But im not entirely convinced in his ability. He did seem to run straight into people a lot in this game.

Was unlucky not to score though, did everything right it was just a good save.

hell be best away from home counter attacking

Could and probably should have lobbed/lifted it over the keeper, if you keep it on the ground then the keeper only has the one dimension to deal with.

He played pretty well, I think Kyrgiakos is probably as good a call for MOTM.  I think a lot of the players didn't retain possession as well as they could have down to pressing from the turks. It was kind of inevitable our only goal should come from the one moment in the match when their defence was wide open and you could have driven an entire tank division through it. A tad ironic that Babel should finish so assuredly and then be taken off! (I trust/assume he was injured or that wasn't great management)

It was obviously good managment because as soon as he came off we started playing well  :D

Plus Torres got some match fitness!

You can't blame the 1st half inept performance on Babel. Yes he was useless 'til he scored, but so were many

Exactly. Since when do you take a player off having given him a chance and after he's got himself a goal!?!?!?! If he isn't injured his confidence will be wrecked, I mean plenty said Keane was 'devastated' every time he had a mare and was taken off, Babel finished brilliantly - the only LFC player to finish at all - and he doesn't reappear. What exactly did Torres do.....................?

Pleasantly surprised by his performance. I think one of the few players who demonstrated real effort against City. We shall see though about his quality in the final third of the field. I am not totally buying into him, but am enjoying his play. Hopefully it will continue and he creates some scoring opportunities.

I just fear he's another Riera, looks good enough to make fans warm to him, but no end product

I reckon in a 4-4-2 system, we would never get the best out of Jova. His style is more suited to 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 system where he would not be required to support the ceter mids as much as in a 4-4-2 system.

i thought he was really poor against city. But agree with matt about the system not being the best for him.
He doesnt appear like a natural winger, more an attacking left sided player in a 4-3-3.

Spot on Ben. He needs to be playing in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 to be effective.

The more I see of him the more I realise why Rafa signed him, he's a gallop-er.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

He is an ok player, I was thinking if he was better than Riera, no he isn't, not as intelligent as Riera.

for free he could be of use

Thats spot on - he has always either played in a three up front on the left or through the middle - exactly the same as babel and kuyt . You dont seem to see many true right/left mids these days

i dunno i might be wrong, but i just reckon hes very very dumb

also though he needs an attacking left back, cause he hasnt had one making runs past him, which then gives him more room
