I think that comment is a tad hypocritical.

I think it was someone else mate..

When have I ever changed my opinion?? Why Don't you grow up and start treating people with some respect. How on earth can you still have faith in Rafa after today's game, the whole team lacks cohesion, playing ability, decent tactics and morale!!

The way i see it either win the FA cup or the Champions league...or rafa has to go...as there is no marked improvement in our team.

We're currently the fourth best team in the country. We have been ever since Rafa arrived. On a given day the gap between all four teams isn't that great, and indeed closer than it has been since Houllier was here, but holding a gun to the guy's head if he fails to leapfrog our three domestic rivals to get some silverware is just f*cking madness.

If you want a team that expects something they don't have the personnel to obtain, go get yourselves a barcodes shirt.

Ronnie Whelan on Irish radio has just said Benitez has to go , i dunno, he makes good points, Benitez has spent 150 mill odd,  he has made no progress since Instanbul...............I really like Benitez and hopes the players cop on to themselves........ On paper they look like v . good players but they dont look too interested in playing for Benitez?..........The players more so than Benitez need to take a good hard look at themselves..... There is no reason why players like Riise and Vorinin both around 27 ( prob 10 years as a professional)  can't perform against losers like Middlesborough!!

He's defending the right to abuse our manager, and has directed some pretty nasty abuse at him aswell - NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Rafa wants 11 robots who all do what he says.  No imagination, no flair, no trying things out of the odinary.  Just do what the Manager says and thats it.  Its pathetic but will not change as its been that way for years.  Creative freedom isnt allowed under Rafa!!

We didn't draw today because of an absence of flair. We drew today because our players lobbed the ball up in the air to no-one in particular. I don't believe for a second that Rafa's sending his team out to do that.

This is what happens when our passing game turns to sh*t. A player gives the ball away a couple of times at close range, and then the next time it's a hopeful punt forward. Maybe having Crouch on the pitch would make that less of a problem, but when Voronin's the man under it against two decent size defenders, we're going to keep going backwards.

Flair includes the ability to dribble (especially with running), pass (those one two flick) and trapping a hard pass. Also include the ability to trick defenders into making mistakes and able to change directions on the spot.. In my book flair is basically great skills...

Regardless of your interpretation of flair, it's pretty irrelevant if we don't keep the ball and pass it accurately. That's my point. We could have Ronaldo on the wing, but you'll get nothing out of him if you can't get the ball to him.

shouldnt we expect that after 4 years we should be at least closer to the top sides or is that really to much to ask?

We have to ask the question.. Are we seriously so much better in term of performance now compared to last year? How about two years ago? Three years ago? Is today's performance the best in 5 years? If it is not staying at 4th place is stagnation.

yes we closing the gap these few years.. but realistically can we close it further? Or have we reached a plateu?

Sometimes we can tell by looking at the team the way they play if we can really progressed to the next level. At the momment I just can't see it.

In sales, sometimes the sales person may not hit target, but we can tell from his pipeline and hardwork that he has the capability to be a top sales person. So the manager will keep him.

Similarly is another sales person never hit target and has not much pipeline and keep taking breaks and leave. We know he has no hope.

It is there to see.. it is just whether we care to accept it now or later. We are hoping angainst all hope it is different. But reality can be cruel.

The reason for sacking Rafa now is a two edge sword. We may continue to spiral down if he leaves now. But it will give the new manager time to start looking at the team and do some rebuilding early before next season.

Just watched torres goal. A wonder strike...so glad we signed him up in the summer. I think the 'lets sack rafa' crowd should pipe down a bit and remember that we've only just bought torres and babel. Added to that agger, mascherano and some of the other young players - rafa has set us up well for the next few years. I would like to see him go if over the course of the season he struggles to change the current lack of tactics/passion/creativity in the team. But for now he should be left alone to do his job.
