Not a flashy player but he doesnt lose the ball and is good at keeping possession higher up... Not a bad finisher when he gets the chance and I think if he plays is a side that has good attacking players then he can do a job for us...

We only signed him a few months ago, no reason whatsoever to be selling him so soon...

+ We only have Kuyt as a decent right wing/right forward option with Cole maybe doing a job there if needed... We've gotten rid of Riera and Benny and i wouldnt want us losing more players we'll probably struggle to replace given the money we sold for..

I agree, we should be getting rid of our bench warmers not guys that are pushing for first team starts. He was pretty solid and was constantly getting himself involved in the game unlike many others in the squad, also he didn't cost anything so n otlike we need to recoup his fee.

Unless Roy has an ace up his sleeve i'd definitely keep him.

I've been impressed with David Amoo in pre-season.

I'm not bothered if he leaves.

He's done absolutely nothing in a Liverpool shirt so far to impress me.  Might turn out to be a decent player once he's properly settled, but then again he might not.  If Espanyol's offer is good enough then let him go.  No point in judging a player by past reputation and imo that is what a lot of people have done with Maxi so far.

I think he uses the ball really well.
There were games at the end of the season when we were keeping the ball far better with him in the team. And for me he makes the right pass most of the time as well.

I personally like him and would keep him.
One of the better actual footballers in the squad for me he is.

I'll agree, he uses the ball pretty well.

But for an attacking midfielder his end product isn't good enough imo.  Doesn't get himself into enough positions to really hurt teams.  His lack of pace is evident too.  That's something we generally have to improve because at times last season the lack of pace in our side was frightening.  Only Johnson, Torres and Babel have the ability to accelerate past somebody these days, even Gerrard struggles to do that now, he's definitely lost half a yard.  Pace isn't everything, but it is important and a collective lack of it seriously weakens the team.

Not sure quite what Maxi offers any side to be honest. Hes not particularly strong in any area of the game and just seems to spend most of his time chasing after the ball without haveing any impact on proceedings. We need people that can at least do one thing very well and turn a game for us and Maxi aint in that bracket. Hes a typical Benitez player, works hard, follows orders and doesnt take risks on the field but we surely need people with a bit more edge fire than that at Liverpool.

Agree totally Ben you just don't let players of Rodriguez's calibre waltz out of the Club ,an Argentine International who was just starting to look the part in the latter end of the season ...

I'm more concerned with the lack of depth it would leave us if all the players that are being linked away eventually do go
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

if he goes then we need a replacement ASAP, but i wont be sorry for Maxi to go. He's highly skilled, but too lightweight for this league and goes missing all too often.

The man utd defeat was a prime example. Maxi got one hard tackle early in the first half and lost interest in the entire match.

There is a lack of depth right now! Nowhere near to challenge the top 4 teams. Surely there has to be more signings - 2 strikers, a midfielder (to replace Masc) and a left back. If not, it will be a repeat of last season.

Selling Maxi makes little sense as we would get peanuts for him and he is decent enough to do a job for us.

2 strikers?  ??? What about 1 striker, winger, left back and midfielder. If the winger can play striker as well that would be handy. Maybe we should go back in for Remy?  :D
