You say that Torress amd Gerrard would never be dropped if they werent injured.
Has this always been the case, or has one or both not started when not injured?

Both have started when fully fit and not recovering from injury as such - Torres ha sbeen rested during his periods on the way back from injury when he has looked knackered and been given a breather for a game but thats to preserve and ensure he stays fit so he is still automatic first choice - same with gerrard .

Now taking them off during a game is a totally different matter heimdall - your changing the goalposts there arent you .

Off course every player can be subbed if they are playing poor no matter who they are .

And what if they played like in training? I also mentioned that earlier, there is no shifting of goalposts here. What if Rafa wants to play 4-4-2 for example. All I'm saying is that there could be any number of reasons why with a player of Tevez's ability, who can comfortably play in both Stevie's and Nando's position, COULD replace any of them on the teamsheet. If Rafa makes that decision, instead of me offering it as an option, would you condemn him as well?

I look forward to the day when Rafa rotates Gerrard or Torres to the bench and explains in an interview that he did so because he saw something in training.  I expect you'll be full of praise for the boss on that day, mate, for making a tough call for the good of the team and won't be joining the chorus of dissenters who scream for him to play his best players and knock the fecking rotation on the head. 

I just look forward to the day when the manager actually has two top quality strikers, it's been quite a while now hasn't it?

If Rafa started Tevez and Stevie in a match then I wouldn't be disappointed at all but then I don't have the same blinkered follow the flock mentality as you two and I do realise that all players can have a dip in form and I can actually appreciate players outside the Liverpool squad, guess that makes me a glory hunting wum in your minds doesn't it.   

Must have touched a nerve.  Well, calm down, mate, I'm not calling you a WUM or anything.  What I am doing is noting that most people would absolutely massacre Rafa (forgive me but I suspect you'd be one of them) for resting Torres or Gerrard if they were fit and available...even if we had Tevez.  Why?  Because they are simply are two best players and even on their off days they add so much to the team.  Now, there may yet come a day when we're so brimming with quality from top to bottom in the squad that we can contemplate sitting these lads down when they go off the boil slightly but the addition of Tevez alone probably won't herald that day's arrival.  So, while I agree with you in theory that no player should be undroppable, in practice Torres and Gerrard will comfortably remain our best players regardless of who we bring in this summer.  As such, we probably should stick to the established game plan of making them the first two names of the teamsheet when fit.
