Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I doubt it, they have a different release date on www.liverpoolfc.tv. If they wanted to play with the new kits in the friendlies, they probably would have had a press conference or something similar to that to unveil them. Simply wearing a new kit without any formal presentation isn't too appealing.

Before the start of last season Liverpool also played Wrexham in a pre-season friendly and won 4-3 in a seven goal thriller. The Liverpool goals were scored by players no longer at Anfield when Milan Baros and Fernando Morientes were both double marksmen.

So, now that all this World Cup malarky is over, we can get down to what really matters....Liverpool Football Club!!!

1st game back, will be really interesting to see how the new lads will play. i'm hoping to see more of paul anderson, mark gonzalez, fabio aurelio and craig bellamy. we might even get to see agger and paletta together!

I know maybe its a bit pointless starting a new thread on a friendly against wrexham but to be honest i want to get the conversation back on about liverpool and the premiership!!!

VIEWS?  :D

BRING ON THE PREMIERSHIP!!!
WOOT!
:buttrock  :buttrock  :buttrock

-----------------------------------------------------------

Formation I Would Start-

......................Carson
Finnan.......Paletta...Agger....Aurelio
Anderson...Sissoko..Zenden...Gonzalez
.................Bellamy...Fowler

C'mon You Redmen!!!
:)

Our reserves play their home games at their ground (The Racecourse). It's an arrangement we have with whatever team's stadium we use for our home reserve games. We did it with Chester City and the Deva Stadium before we changed it to Wrexham and the Racecourse.

Bavlondon - Definition - Clueless, uninformed, wrong. Can also be used as a verb, to do a "Bavlondon", to say make a statement which is incorrect, to make something up and state as fact.

:D

that is funny

Always good to start with a warm up games against a local lower league team, most of the players from the World Cup will not be back in training yet so will obviously not feature.

I imagine these will be the first team players that Rafa will choose from:

Craig Bellamy
Jerzy Dudek
Steve Finnan
Sami Hyypia
Daniel Agger
John Arne Riise
Robbie Fowler
Momo Sissoko
Fabio Aurelio
Boudewijn Zenden
Gabriel Paletta
Mark Gonzalez

And the youngsters will also be heavily involved:

Besian Idrizaj
Danny Guthrie
David Mannix
Lee Peltier
Danny O'Donnell
James Smith
Paul Anderson
Adam Hammill
Miki Roque
Jack Hobbs
Godwin Antwi
David Martin

While these players are at the club there isn’t much point involving them as they probably will not be here come the end of August:

Scott Carson (Probably going out on loan for the season)
Salif Diao
Anthony Le Tallec
Darren Potter
Florent Sinama Pongolle
Carl Medjani
Djimi Traore
Stephen Warnock
Antonio Barragan

So a team looking something like this is what I would play:

                    Martin

Finnan     Hyypia     Paletta     Aurelio

Anderson Guthrie     Zenden    Gonzalez

              Fowler     Bellamy

Bench (from):

Jerzy Dudek
Daniel Agger
John Arne Riise
Momo Sissoko
Besian Idrizaj
David Mannix
Lee Peltier
Danny O'Donnell
James Smith
Adam Hammill
Miki Roque
Jack Hobbs
Godwin Antwi

If Martin is going to be our 3rd choice keeper next year we may as well give him a game, I would be a bit hesitant to put in both Agger and Paletta in together straight away, maybe 1 half each for them, we can use Sissoko, Riise, Agger from the bench in addition to some of the younger players.
