Whats disapointing most of all is that we are not close to our main objective, to win the league title.
Thats what annoys most fans, not that we are not winning the league, but that we are not even close.

"Progress" is the keyword;

I agree. The management feels that we progressed. But we as fans dun think so. If they think that by winning Carling Cup or the FA Cup for that matter is progress then that is worrying. LFC Fans are proud people. We want the League title. We want to get back at Man U. I understand we need time to get there. But it seems the management are happy with the progress currently but i am worried we are soon becoming a mid table team. Playing for 6 or 7 postition year in year out. Sad.. really sad..

I personally would give Kenny another season because of what hes previously done for the club (thats how he got the job here in the first place, his application wouldnt have been looked at by any other side)

Kenny has final say on who comes, and who goes. And, you know what, i can almost forgive the fact that Kenny has wasted so much money, if it wasn't for the fact that he refuses to accept it. The likes of Charlie Adam should be paying to enter Anfield, not playing week in, week out.

so an interim manager who has just got off a cruise liner a few days before has the final say over a man that was brought in by the owners after he was recommended to them by billy `moneyball` beane specifically to implement a radical new transfer philosophy that the owners believed in because they had seen it used in baseball?

i fully accept that the board have a transfer agenda, but Kenny gets final say on who he signs. Kenny had also been tracking Carroll for a while.

No one held a gun to Kenny's head and forced him to sign those players....in fact, one of Kenny's demands for a new contract was a a promise that he alone decides on who signs, and who's sold

everyone was tracking carroll, benitez said on the telly a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to sign him.
i posted up an article from a paper the other day from back when we signed henderson and the headlines were about `how baseball and moneyball took £20m jordan to liverpool`, the article was basically comoli talking about how young players cost less than established players because although the transfer fee`s are higher the wages are a lot lower than players at the top of the game and how you get a sell on value etc etc

Another thing thats just as worrying are those who are calling for Dalglish's head.
It might be disgraceful that we gave up a 2-0 lead and lost 3-2 (I was working so I havent seen the match) but its even more disgraceful that some are actually overjoyed that they can stick the knife in KKs back for what happened tonight.

Arent people forgetting that this season, we have won the League Cup, could potentially make & win the FA Cup Final, as well as having already secured European football next season? Dalglish's signing's aside - Im sure a majority of us were far from satisfied when Rafa signed misfits such as Nunez, Josemi, Carson, Pellegrino & Morientes in his first full season with all those mentioned barely having contributed nor showed any true form?

How much did Rafa spend on those players?    When you buy players for such exorbitant amount, they are expected to be game changers like Mata or Aguero. Not garbage like Carroll, Downing and Henderson. Of course some idiots might argue that we can't attract those players because of our league position but how did we get someone like Suarez then? And who said we needed to spend big to get quality anyway? How much did Van Der Vaart cost?
