It's the ultimate downfall for any manager...it happened with Houllier and it happened with Rafa. Both made poor signings and both refused to accept it and persisted with them regardless of the results. Kenny's gone down the same route

You clearly haven't watched any Rafa Interviews. He openly admits he made mistakes in the transfer market, indeed in his last season with us he admitted that he got things wrong, so you're talking nonsense.

Really?  That's funny, because it didn't stop him playing them, week in, week out. He only admitted he got things wrong, really, after he got sacked.  As for Benny's smoke and mirrors, it's b0ll0cks. Kenny is oblivous to the fact that he's f**ked up big time in the transfer market and he's going to persist with his awful signings regardless. Same mistake he made at Newcastle...same negative tactics and same overpriced, average players for huge sums of money.

I dont think there is any chance that we will sell Carroll, Adam or any of the other new players this summer. If we get rid of someone it will be maxi, Kuyt, and maybe shelvey.

And you say you have no agenda against Kenny and don't want him sacked !! Your posts say a totally different story.

Kenny Dalglish 14 months as manager of Liverpool second time round and has won one trophy and in the semi final of another.

it's the league that matters Benny...7th place and 3 points off SWANSEA isn't good enough. It's not progress and winning a micky mouse cup doesn't paper over the cracks.

My agenda is for Liverpool to build a title winning team, on firm foundation. Kenny did a great job steadying the ship...but he's not the answer for long term success and that's been obvious for months

I stand by my earlier view upon that KK should leave.

1. Not reaching 4th "This is the demand put upon other managers"
2. Signing ***** players
3. We are playing like *****

We may win two cups this year but to me it shouldn't take focus of that we haven't gone forward as a team. At the same time the opposition teams have had horrible years and we are still lurking around 7th place in the league with teams like Swansea, Everton, Stoke and Sunderland chasing us down. We may actually end up somewhere around 10-11th when the season is over.

Today was one of the worst collapses I have ever seen from our team and that doesn't bode well.

Liverpool is in the business to win trophies that is a fact - winning trophies both domestic and foriegn is what made us .

You can only win 4 each season and it's typical of the modern fan to turn their nose up at a cup and call it Mickey Mouse !! That is what you expect from a fan whose team didn't win it.

Benny you aren't being honest with yourself ,we are clearly miles away from where we set to be in the beginning of the year. You can't parade the Carling Cup as a proof of change ,in fact 14 month as a manager and i yet to understand what is the system we are playing to ,players deployed out of position ,failing players getting too many chances ,wrong tactics ,late subs..It's pretty messy to watch.

At least let's deal with reality ,and no i don't think Kenny should be sacked ,he should learn and improve.

dalglish has got to support his players in public but behind the scene`s he`ll be absolutely raging at that capitulation. he took the unusual step of criticising them in public after the bolton game so to be fair he cant really do it again, players can accept it when a manager rip`s into them behind the scene`s just as long as the manager if not exactly defends them in public at least tries to stonewall the press.
our players probably accepted being criticised in public at bolton by putting it down to kenny being upset but if he continually has a go at them through the media he will lose the dressing room.
it`s just how footy works, thats the code, in truth kenny was a bit out of order after the bolton game, i know we as fans like to hear that stuff but they are professionals and just like anyone else in any other walk of life players expect their boss to tell them off in private not in full view of everyone.
benitez, houllier etc suffered some bad defeats but they just stonewalled or just said the players know they need to do better, they never gave the `my way or the highway` type of ultimatum that kenny gave, not that i can recall anyway.
terrible result tonight, one of the worst we`ve had in donkeys years.

Us less than 12 months ago...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 475026.stm

............P...GD..PTS
1 Man Utd 36 39 76
2 Chelsea 36 37 70
3 Arsenal 36 30 67
4 Man City 35 21 62
5 Liverpool 36 18 58
6 Tottenham 35 7 56

We had just won 5-2 at Fulham with Suarez, Maxi, Mereiles, Kuyt in attack... "It was a sensational display from Liverpool, who have now scored 13 goals in their last three games"

This is before Carroll, Henderson, Adam, Downing enter the fray.. his 75 million outlay on midtable british players.

Your signings make or break you, the worry i have is poor signings have a long running effect on a club not just on results (wages eat into the coffers, low resale value, each year passes over 20m CL missed out on)

We are going backwards.

The only positive I can take from today's poor showing is Coates's goal, what a magical goal.

Jordan Henderson is to blame for the first goal, lost his man.

Martin Skrtel to blame for the second goal, lost his man.

Martin Skrtel and Jose Enrique to blame for the third. Utterly poor defending.

Watching that on MOTD has made me feel sick to the pit of my stomach.

That great job steadying the ship ended at the end of last season. From then on its been his work... his signings, we are going baclwards.

Meanwhile we can bask in the glory of bring out of the title race every season by december 1st, not even able to compete in the CL, but look forward to a day out v cardiff at wembley, so some fickle fans who cant see the cracks behind the wallpaper, can have a coach day out.

"lets sit back and settle for carling cups"
As I said before, some daft tw@ts on here lately...
:nod

That was sarcasm by me ,settling for carling cups,
Please read it a second time, with ur specs this time. ur second statement was 100% correct tho
:)

Yes I know it was sarcasm. You were trying to be funny by stating something you really meant as a joke.

23/04/2011  Birmingham City Home  W  5-0  Maxi 3 (7, 66, 73), Kuyt (23), Cole (86)
01/05/2011  Newcastle United Home  W  3-0  Maxi (10), Kuyt (pen 59), Suarez (65)
09/05/2011  Fulham Away  W  5-2  Maxi 3 (1, 7, 70), Kuyt (15), Suarez (70)

The play was wonderful... the best ive seen in a long time. Not just great results.. great performances. Unfortunately i was at the next game (at home to Spurs) when he changed the team (to much criticism) and put in Andy Carroll.. the attack went to pieces, we hardly got a kick and were played off the pitch at Anfield.

4 defeats out of 5 - that's very worrying.
