I was surprised by how he faded and he looked to be another one of those guys that came here, showed a lot of promise and then gets eaten up by the machine. Defensively last week he was massive, v calm and controlled, this week again a major attacking force. Fingers crossed for more in the future.

He seems more comfortable playing the wing back role in the side, hopefully he'll get his confidence back and will become a consistent player. I'm really encouraged by our football teams progression, after three-and-a-half years of pessimism I feel optimistic for the future. With the right backing Rodgers will lead us to success.

We're playing the right type of football this season and we're identifying some people who can help us penetrate in the final 3rd. We're nowhere near where we need to be, but Jose is doing a tidy little job at the moment. I have always liked the guy and I think he has the right type of attitude in general. always better to see someone who's in the squad filling a gap rather than gambling on new players coming in. Hopefully the confidence continues to grow and we keep moving forward.

His pass for Suarez's second goal was sublime.. another good game for Jose
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Don't think I have ever seen Downing play such a game changing ball when he has played in that position. Hope BR persists with Jose in left midfield because it most definitely worked.

And that's the point, I have not seen enough to suggest Enrique in midfield should be a permanent solution.

He had a great game and credit to him, only time will tell if he is there more often.

Just when you think we're turning a corner, we lose one our best players (at the moment).

f.uck it.

Throw Johnson LB and bring back Wisdom to RB. Don't think Downing should be at LB and in fairness he has tried when he's played on the wing more recently.

Don't think I'd play Wisdom right back. He's more of a centre back and offers zero coming forward (other than being a threat attacking corners as he's got a great leap). It was worrying how badly he got torn apart by mirallas in the derby and his form never recovered, but at some point he's going to have to be thrown back into the mix.

I would give Robinson a chance at left back but my guess is Rodgers will stick with Downing.

Downing at left back is a disaster waiting to happen.

Not waiting to happen mate, it did happen, a few weeks back when Spurs tore him apart.  No doubt it will happen again if he plays a lot of games there.

Considering he has often been deployed as a midfielder, we may now be able to justify an additional January transfer window purchase for cover.
