delusion

7 world class players? nope....7 top class players yes but world class? if we did have 7 world class players we would surely be doing a bit better than 6th?

the world class tag is thrown around far to easily in my opinion

world class means they would easily get into any team in the world and feature in a world X1 voted by managers and players

torres and gerrard maybe, the rest no.

Fat Head Hicks on the radio he will sign for us this week, 3 weeks later he is still not our player.

Cant believe it every top class team in Europe will want a piece of him sign the cheque fat head after all we pay the bill.

Madness utter madness how Javier hasnt been signed up for atleast 6 years.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I've pointed this out in the chelsea-l'pool thread but I'll say it here as it has more to do with this one. My hands are in the air, 18 million is a bargain for Mascheramho. I thought it was a bit to much, but the more I watch him, the better he gets. Sign him up.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

I'm pretty sure that he's waiting for this summer to know if Rafa will stay here or not.  If he leaves than Masch will probably follow him to the new project.

Most consistent player of the season , dunno why we are still waiting to sign him , i'd sign him till he was 35 if there was ever that type of contract . Masch has been our best player this season defensively . IF he was at manure , they would have signed him up long ago . Come on H!cks u fat W@nker sign mascherano for god's sake

Javier Mascherano is desperate for double cup glory this season to make up for the two final blows he took last year.

Liverpool entertain Barnsley at Anfield in the FA Cup on Saturday before facing Inter Milan in the Champions League next week.

And the Argentine midfielder, who has agreed a permanent deal to remain at the club, is desperate to make sure there are no slip-ups this time round.

For the memory of a Champions League final defeat by AC Milan plus Brazil beating Argentina  in the Copa America last season still hurts.

“When you lose any final, it’s painful,” he said. “But suffering defeat in such a massive game as the Champions League or Copa America was really hard to take.

Suffering defeat in such a massive game as the Champions League or Copa America was really hard to take Javier Mascherano
“Even when I was back in South America I always watched the European Cup games and loved it. It’s the most important title you can win in club football and we were so close to doing it.

This time winning one would be really nice. Hopefully it will happen this season in the Champions League or FA Cup because I don’t want another silver medal. I prefer gold!”

Mascherano has made himself popular with the Liverpool fans since he moved from West Ham.

But he’s not been so popular with the referees, who have shown him the yellow card 11 times.

In England you have to be tougher,” he said. “The teams are more physical and harder, especially in midfield, and there are plenty of tackles flying in.

“But in Europe, I probably get booked too often.”

I really really hope this is not true,

Spanish Press: Mascherano Offered To Barcelona
Marca claims that Barcelona have been offered the services of Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano in order to shore up their central line for next season...

Marca claims that Javier Mascherano has been offered to FC Barcelona, with the blaugrana hierarchy giving serious thought to a move for the Argentina international.

With Deco said to be on the verge of moving on, there is a vacancy about to open up in the Barcelona midfield, with the young West Ham midfielder said to be tempting the club's technical staff.

Mascherano, 23, is currently on loan at Liverpool from West Ham United, although that is not the full story of his status. Like compatriot Carlos Tevez, much of his contract is owned by Media Sports Investments (MSI), which runs Brazilian club Corinthians.

Liverpool are said to be eager to land the player on a permanent basis, and were indeed rumoured to be close to doing so in January, but for now, he remains registered with West Ham but the property of MSI.

Carloz Tevez changed hands to Manchester United for £2m from West Ham United, but Mascherano would no doubt cost a great deal more, given the complexities of the deal. As such, Barcelona are content to adopt a "wait and see" policy for now.

Newspaper always make up stories inorder to sell . We have first priority to sign Javier mascherano . Till we say no , or till his contract ends and no approach from us then he can talk to other clubs

Marca is full of sh#t and always has been.

Anyway, this story is true. Masceherano's heading for Nou Camp in April with the rest of the Liverpool squad to deliver yet another masterclass in tactical football.
