World class shoul;d be: who can walk into any team in the world...

Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho and Gerrard could. Its that simple.

We all know what "World Class" means... Pele, Best, Maradonna, Cruyff, van Basten (IMO), Zidane... its quite a list.  You have to be honest and ask yourself if you really think that Gerrard deserves to be in that list yet?

True "World Class" footballers and sportsmen (and women) transcend the sport they're involved in... Ali, Tiger Woods, Schumacher, Navratilova, Borg (again its quite a list).

If your surprised by that mate then its time for you to wake up and smell the coffee. By SGs standards he had a poor world cup.

Unfortunately thats True .

Gerrard, by his standards had at best an uninspiring world cup as did many of world footballs other "stars" .

Don't forget about Ballack either mate.  As anonymous as Totti this WC but just as over-rated.  Lucky for him that Fat Frank was much, much worse!  Decision time Jose!  :D

I saw him go to ground in mock pain a few times, hit Row Z with a few long-range strikes and do little else.  Granted, I may be biased as I can absolutely not stand the sight of that hyped-up whinger--never could.  I'm glad, in a way, he's going to Chelsea because he suits those rotters down to the ground.   :D

Totti

How he made that list is beyond me.  Don't think Ze Roberto did enough to warrant inclusion either and Pirlo can play a hell of a lot better than he has done in this tournament.

Personally I think Essien and Yaya Toure deserved to be on the list.  Superb performances despite not playing many games and especially considering they were both world cup debutants.  I also think Ribery has done more than either Ballack or Figo have this world cup.  Gerrard was right to be excluded, he was pretty poor by his own high standards.

As ever with FIFA, they base these things on reputation more than performance.
