Better not to comment until we know the full story or at least more than we do so far, hopefully just a storm in a teacup.

could have been worse... skrtel could have been out with him, and the headline could have read: "man has head ripped clean off his shoulders for insulting liverpool's steven gerrard....."

Five other men were detained and a man was hopitalised and they are still being held by the police. We are finally looking like a winning team and do not need silly distractions like this. He should have walked away as he has plenty to lose and the "victim" probably has nothing to lose. Why allow himself to get involved? Not good      :no

Good grief Kazza that's a very sensible post - are you sure that you are in the right place?

On a  serious not I agree with your sentiments entirely. Gerrard is paid considerably more than your average CEO and you don't hear about them and their friends scrapping in the street whoever was to blame. It looks bad for the club whatever the spin is going to be.

Like others here have said we don't know the details... he might just have been there and not lifted a finger...

on a side note, if only the merseyside police has been this vigilant when it comes to those house robberies though...

Sorry but if Gerrard has hit anyone then he is in the wrong and should be charged.

he is not above the  law and should be treated like us, that might even mean that he is let go but as it stands right now it looks like 4 of the are goingto be charged with ABH.

Lakes, there is absolutely nothing at the moment to suggest that Gerrard has hit anyone. Yes someone has suffered facial injuries in the fracas but not one report so far says that Gerrard's the one throwing the fists about.

Until we hear something concrete from the authorities or a club statement we shouldn't be pointing fingers at him.

Very true mate, but sad to say that Radio Five live reported that 4 of them will be charged with ABH, and one of them has the same age as him.

I hope Radio five are wrong as they were only reporting from local press and not their own reporter.
