Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

He’ll never accept being a squad player if we were to find a replacement, probably best to let him move on for the harmony of the team. I think he is one of those that doesn’t take being left out of the team well. It seems RK’s days are numbered at Barcelona so that dream move may not happen anyway.

No one knows the numbers involved so saying that the club should just get him signed up and will have cocked up if they don't doesn't mean a lot. Personally I wouldn't offer him any more than a 3 year contract.

I honestly think he is worth it Mate based on the fact that there is a high chance he would be available for most of that 4 years.  No one says we have to keep him for that duration either and he could be sold on in a year or 2 for an actual fee. Even if he rode that one out he still wouldnt be older than what Milner is now.

Close to 50 odd games a season every season under Klopps management is serious going and I think a lot underestimate how valuable that is. Klopp doesnt and would have given him a similar deal to the others so him leaving means they arent backing their manager.  Are people even 100% sure we will sign a replacement. :eyebrow

He's the beating heart of the team. He dictates our flow, passing and pace. He very rarely gives the ball away and aims to go forward with his passes.  He's always calm which has the same affect on the rest of the team! He's not in the team to score goals, but I think Klopp will get goals out of him in the future.
Only when he's not available will fans realise his importance to us...
For now, he's our beating heart

He's a "Milner" mk 2.

Not the flashiest of players but gives his all in every game. Solid, reliable determined and not without skill.

I think he wants to end his career playing with us and personally i think it's a mistake we will regret if we let him walk away.

He's gone, Klopp confirmed it in one of his post-match interviews.

Good luck Gini. You've been a great servant to the club and enjoyed some magical moments along the way.

I'll always remember his goal against Barcelona in the CL semi final at Anfield.

I'm sure he'll shine, wherever he goes.

Exactly Dev, well said. Thanks for the memories Gini, a slow but steady contribution to the recovery of LFC.

Think he has been a great servant and was good value for money.  :nod  Legend for those goals against Barca  :buttrock He has had a good run here and leaves with some serious medals. Best of luck to him.

It seems like it will be Barca anyway on a 3 year deal  :eyebrow Obviously about the money then

Looks like he's rejecting Barca and going to PSG who doubled his earnings. Still on a 3 year contract though.

At basically 31 it would've been stupid matching his wage demands

According to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, PSG have offered him an annual salary worth more than £8.6million (after tax) on a three-year deal. I think that would equate to us offering him around £320k a week.

If he gets ridiculous money then fair play to him. Wouldnt begrudge the lad at all just cos he is leaving.

He says the reasons for leaving us will come out soon enough. It will be interesting to see what it's all about.
