Derbyshire in merseyside? - Blackburn hitman target!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby spion » Sat May 19, 2007 6:36 pm

From todays times.

Liverpool want to raid Blackburn Rovers for new striking sensation Matt Derbyshire. Derbyshire has impressed in his first full Premiership season and Rafa Benitez is keen to take him to Anfield. Blackburn, however, look set to resist a £4m bid from the Merseyside club.

Another English striker at Liverpool would be good & Derbyshire looks like player Benitez could use. Not only this but if Blackburn want Bellers back maybe there could be buisness done.

Cant say I have seen much of him but his stats seem pretty good 9 goals in 14 games+16 as sub. He's certainly ugly enough to play for us anyway.

Derbyshire in merseyside?

No, they are two entirely seperate regions in England.

Blackburn would be more financially successful if they marketed themselves as an "old style" club.

They should sell themselves as being a team who have travelled into the future from the year 1898 to play in the Premiership.

They should wear old style kits, sell freshly baked bread at the stadium and distribute free flatcaps to the fans while running out onto the pitch playing the "Hovis" theme over the PA system.

Whenever one of their players appears on Sky Sports "Player Cam", they should look at the camera, put one hand on their hip and give a "thumbs-up" sign and a wink.

interesting.

:Oo:  :D

ive only seen derbyshire a few times but he seems a good-poacher-in-the-making  type of striker, which is exactly what we need. well....for a prospect with sub appearances and a few starts he would be ideal, but if thats not what he's looking for id doubt we will get him.
way too soon to thrown him into a club like liverpool as 1st choice striker, all that "over-whelming" thing pennant went thru and all that....

I'd rather swap Bellamy for McCarthy, rather than an unproven kid.

He's not good enough and that should be the end of it!

FFS like if a player has promise and is in any way English there is a hideous amount of speculation, hes going to one of the big 4 and we are outbidding eachoter...its a load of balls.

Bale etc??

Average players most of them, just because their granny lived in Suffolk and they can play for England does not make them great or worth any money!
