Did you see Hansen play? I think he was the best centre-half I have ever seen. In partnership with Lawrenson, they were a better ball-playing partnership than most of the central midfield pairings, never mind the central defenders. Didi is a smashing player, but comparable with Hansen? sorry, no.

"Umm-bop", while not exactly being Strawberry Fields, is better than any release from Hamann. ???

My money is on Hamman. Hansen didn't really defend Pools when they were attacked by all the armchair critics.

That is ludicrous, I can only assume you are a young lad, Hansen was majestic, he played with such assurance and class.

Hansen was a terrific player, right up to when he retired.

The Scots were bloody mad in only picking him 26 times for his country (he was capable of 100 caps) but I guess that sort of suited Liverpool at the time.

Anyone remember the days in the mid 1980s when international managers used to hate Liverpool because our players always seemed to "mysteriously" withdraw from internationals due to injury, only to play a belter for Liverpool the following week?  :D
