Another pearl of wisdom dropped by Daveny

I’m not being facetious when I say this why not try him as a central defender as we have problems in that area at the moment. He’s proved on numerous occasions that he’s actually quite good defensively.

Love your contributions  mate but what next ?

"F*ck it, if that doesn't work lets give him a go in goal"  ?   :D

Lol I'd say we should slot him next to Margaret at the stadium canteen.

Given that it was another dud show from our €85m flop I don’t think I’d risk him in the canteen

Lol poor Margaret would be pulling her hair out and eventually players will mistake her for Slot.

That money spent on him kind of reminds me of our purchase of Andy Carroll. Soo much funds that could've been used better. Not too sure of the equivalence, 30M we payed for Carroll back then I think it is like today's 100+M.

Carroll £35m in 2011 which was a British transfer record !! He played 44 games and scored 6 goal goals. I seem to remember that Kenny had only just taken over as manager and was away on a cruise but agreed to the idea of buying Carroll. Even one of the worlds absolute bests can get it wrong at times :help  We followed Carroll with the equally useless Benteke and now we have Darwin “ oh Sh*t was I offside again”  :kungfu:

I think Carroll was a one trick pony and that was headers. Darwin has more speed and better technique than Carroll, he just can’t seem to do it in front of goal. My bet is he is weak mentally and everything has to be perfect for him to be in a good headspace, if not his brain over revs and he misses easy chances. He does well for Uruguay where he feels most comfortable. He’s not consistent enough and we should probably find someone that is. I do like how he gets stuck in though, defenders probably hate playing against him other than the fact he misses sitters. His style of play does get the crowd pumped up, he is certainly an emotional player.

tbh, I can't imagine Slot has *not* already made his mind up about him, but is stuck with him. Nothing Nunez has done, or not done, in the time he has been with LFC and more recently under Slot could convince the manager to keep him. And other clubs see that too. So who is going to spend anywhere near what we paid to take him off our hands. So, Slot is stuck with him I reckon. He could only hope that a run in the mickey mouse cup might produce some goals, raise his re-sale value etc. Because he's not good enough to start. IF Jota gets fit and stays fit, I reckon Slot would start him 100% of the time ahead of Nunez in the PL and CL, maybe bring Nunez on for the last 15-20 mins to try to protect Jota.
As I say, Slot is in a difficult place because of him.
And for what little I know, I don't think Nunez will ever make it at a top club. Deffo not in the PL.

The more pressure he feels the less he's going to overcome it. He'd be ideal playing at Juventus or Atletico Madrid but not LFC.
We've had lads who didn't work out before: Robbie Keane, Balotelli etc.. so we also know how to bite the bullet and get rid of them. Slot mustn't make the same mistake as Klopp holding on to Ox and Thiago that led to the lack of rotation that burnt the team out. Sides must have criteria and Nunez falls short, bring in a lad who gets 80% of his shots on target and understands the offside rule.

Believe it or not he only has 18 months left on his contract and so there is a very strong likelihood unless we take immediate action that will end up getting nothing for Nunez. If we have to take £20m in January and get him off the books then so be it. If you buy a car that’s a bit of a dog then there is no point in continuing to put petrol in it !!

He's a handful and that's about it these days. Watching him against Accrington, and you can't tell who's the international £65m player, or who is the League Two player. Danns actually looks better.

Missed two sitters in the first half. Did nothing the second half. He can't score against a side 50+ places below LFC. Sorry but he's absolute muck. Absolutely has to go

It hasn’t worked out and pretty obvious why Klopp tried to offload him after 12 months.

Surely someone would take a punt on him in Jan, given how difficult it is to sign strikers mid-season?
