Excellent debut from the lad , i've watched a fair bit of the ressies this year and like john said ,this lad is one that has stood out. What i was lookig for on his debut was basically for him not to look out of place in the premiership . He didn't infact you really wouldn't have thought it was his first game . He looked good in possesion ,his long and short game looked good ,and he liked a tackle , very very good debut from the lad. Considering who he was up against ,he showed great character and a level head in possesion. Defo one to look out for in the near future.
UP THE PURPS !!!

A very SAFE performance but did all the stuff he should do, well. It was risky of Benitez to play a untested player (remember Leto against Spurs) in a game like this but it worked out. His passing was sound & he always looked for the best pass & on most part managed to complete. I would like to see his pass percentages as I think he could well be up there with the best on the day. Saying that I would've imagined Nemeth could get a call up before Damien but all in all a good surprise.

I thought he played really well.  He was patient on the ball and looked quite comfortable.  I'm I right in thinking that he is a two footed player? if so then this is great, a player that can distribute and is comfortable with his left and right foot.

Did anyone else notice near the end of the game, he patted Carragher on the back for a great tackle, Jamie just pushed him away as if to say the games still to be won get focused.

hes great prospect and ive been excited about him every since i seen him play for the reserves at the start of the season, he can tackle, pass, is composed, positionally sound, confident, great touch, awareness, hes an athlete and hes left footed whitch gives the team more balance. I said when i first seen him to my brother he reminds me of viera and if he can become that good we have a great player on our hands

i really do wish him nemteh and insua i particular get more games next season at this level, they are clearly above reserve level and need to start playing games like babel and lucas have this season so they can develope into the kind of players that will save us millions in the transfer market:D :D

Excellent debut. Played with a maturity well above his years.

A real prospect imho and much more like it.

Unlike Lucas who is currently still looking way overhyped.

Couldn't agree more, He had quite a few tidy passes and looked confident when chasing people down, I would say we give him the shout next time we are considering Lucas, although he put in a decent match as well.

Well I didnt knock him because with foreign names its always pronounced differently isnt it? like:

Kowt - Kuyt
Honry - Henry
Hullit - Gullit

So how do you pronounce Plessis name? is it Pless is or Plethis or is it silent S's as in Plessi or Plei ? I dont know....come to think of it I dont care anymore !

Damien "666" had a good debut !

Without a shadow of a doubt it was a fantastic debut from Plessis in such a high profile game. He looked very composed on the ball even with opposing players breathing down his neck and his passing range looked very good.
I think that it's too soon though to get over excited about him after one game. It's been done lots of times in the recent past, Sissoko, Lucas, Arbeloa and Kuyt are a handful that spring to mind for various different reasons.

Hopefully Rafa will see fit to give him a couple of more games in the coming weeks with a few games that we should really be able to stroll through coming up. If he does then maybe we will see if this lads really has got as bright a future ahead of him as today suggests.
