ressie team for tonights cup match against accy stanley
                  Bouzanis
Darby   Kelly          Huth    Irwin
                San Jose
  Flynn                         Simon
                Spearing
      Brouwer           Lindfield
Bench: Pacheco, Gulacsi, Nemeth, Insua

why post this in the Chelsea thread you ask?

Plessis isn't in the team and Insua isn't starting, maybe Rafa made that call :D

also on a side note I'm getting :censored: at how much San Jose is playing the holding role, I guess its because Duran has been hurt the whole time he is here and Plessis is being saved for something, but he is clearly not at home in this position.  I am guessing its just so that he improves his ball skills like when they moved Hobbs there for a while in the ressies last season.

At first I put it in the washer and forgot to dry it, so it started to smell foul. And I put it back in the washer, and happened to forget to dry it again. Thought I might as well match the number of visits in the washing machine to the number on the back for good luck so I kept throwing it back in.

Anyway, what lineup would you bunch be comfortable with?
For me:

     Skrtel  Carra  Hypia   Riise

                  Masch
Kuyt           Alonso           Babel
                  Gerrard

                  Torres

Gawd these Americano's  :O

If you're going to make fun of me being American, at least have the decency to understand the punctuation of the language that came from your country.

Take no notice and welcome to the forum btw... Just please do not use the term 'Soccer'  :upside:

the term "soccer" comes from Association Football, I am guessing to differentiate it from Rugby Football, American Football, Gaelic Football, Canadian Football, Aussie Rules Football

we made the sport football, therefore it's what we call it and we call it football so "soccer" can go and fuck off.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

I don't know S@int, considering how badly Lucas played against Birmingham, Plessis might make the 7 on the bench, Rafa is going to want a holding midfielder as one of the options. GK sub, Defender, Holding midfield, and then all the stikers ( or attack minded players if you will) at the club

your right it was red37.    I am pretty sleep deprived right now, and I must continue to fight it for 3 more days, then next week do it all over again, then a short rest before exams.

It was actually China, but it did evolve in Europe.

And China might of gotten it from a weird version that some Aztec/Mayan used to play, involves a ball and a small goal and they hit it with these weird belts.  Loser dies.  I think that tossed that rule out  :p

Actually, you're wrong. It was the original name of the sport, and it was mainly only played by colleges and uni's. It subsequently starting dieing off, where it was later revived to become the game it is today by no other than the Spaniards.

Edit - actually, you know what: this  debate about football origins  (if one doesn't exist already) probably deserves it's own thread. It's really out of place here on this CL game thread and should be taken somewhere else.
