Made up for Adam today with that goal. Charlie is not a flash player and just a guy that clearly enjoys his football and his brand of footy is positive, always looking to make something happen. Hes not got a fancy name and hes not from foreign shores but he is a proper player, almost a throwback to days when we always signed players like him. Ok, he tired toward the end but his job was done, an assist, a goal at the kop end happy days. Terrific stuff, and cheap at the price we paid.

We are a bona fide threat from set pieces once more.  Between him and Downing, our corners look very tasty these days and Charlie's handy with a FK too.  I loved, though, that his first Liverpool goal came from open play with his weaker right foot...well in Chuck!

Ray Wilkins pulls out my favourite piece of punditry of the season so far today:

"Charlie Adam could open a tin of beans with that left foot"

Took his goal really well. Thought he was gonna sky it but he hit it perfectly.

Will be interesting to see what happens with some of the corners when Stevie gets back. TBH You could make a compilation reel of the number of poor corners Stevie has delivered so fingers Adam continues to take them.

Plus i've always thought Stevie is more of a threat attacking the ball head on.

Glad to see people finally acknowledge something positive about Adam... I feel like I'm the only one who still had faith! :D

Glad to see him play that well.  Had a pass to Suarez and a pass to Downing.. Only other players I've ever seen make a pass like that are Alonso, Xavi and Stevie.  If our new boys can play like they did against Bolton on a consistent basis, then Kenny's going to have some very hard choices to make, and we're gonna have an incredible season.

Doubtful for Stoke, has a slight hip injury and out of Scotland's midweek game.

not good news, the decision to sell Meireles will be the subject of debate should the result not go our way. Step forward Jay, he earned his contract extension last season and now it's time to repay some of the faith. Get at em kiddo!
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
