Sure. just take the captains armband away from gerrard and give it to a player outside the first 11.good idea.

honestly speaking, jamie carragher is a full back. our best two all-round full backs are riise and finnan imo. carragher provides superb cover in all positions across the back four.

Nice sentiment but Gerrard is a leader and will take us on to big and better things.

Even if Carragher was a lot better player than he is, I doubt if he is captain material.

I think Jamie is too soft spoken on the field to be a captain material. Of course inability to hold down a regular place will all but discount him from being being given the armband.
I have always prefer a central defender or a central midfielder to be given the captaincy as they will be able to see what's going on in front of them, but of course there are exceptions...Emlyn Hughes, Phil Neal, Kevin Keegan springs immediately to mind.

yeah he generally did well whenever he was asked to fill in there, but he will not be our solution to fill that central defensive position...eg, completely destroyed by Henry and Arsenal and if we were to challange for the title, that could be a liability. But he is invaluable to be used as cover across the back four.

Were there any defenders in PL that were'nt destroyed by Henry and Arsenal?
IMO JC is one of the best man markers in the game when given that task!

Softly spoken my ******!!!

He's more vocal than Gerrard.

Gerrard is a born leader.

With Carragher, Gerrard, Hyypia and Owen we have 4 leaders in the squad.

Owen is no leader and neither was the quiet Hyypia, and that is why the responsibility was finally given to the one true captain.
