He needs to deliver the league title for him to Surpass Rafa IMHO.

Rafa won the champions league with a budget squad... Smicer, Biscan Baros etc... So his champions league success was more impressive, plus they came from three goals down.

He didn't have VVD, Alisson and Co. Let's face it, in Madrid, it was our worst performance of the season, but our best result, if that makes sense. WTF!

On a different note, I hear he's still planning on taking a one year break after his contract runs out (2022), so there will be no tying him down for life or such.

So we are only guaranteed to have him for 3 more seasons... that sucks... would have preferred for him to build a dynasty here...

I'm sure plan could easily alter so you never know maybe Klopp will change his mind.

He had said before that 7 years is his lot.  It was 7 at Mainz, 7 at Dortmund and it will be 7 here unless he can be convinced otherwise. This link is from before the Europa league final https://www.sportsjoe.ie/football/jurge ... pool-78722

So they are basing this on something he said when he first arrived? Circumstances change, it won't happen imo.

Meanwhile, Klopp could take a year's sabbatical at the end of his Liverpool contract in 2022 and while the club's owners are hopeful he will commit to an extension, they are minded not to put pressure on him, sources have told ESPN FC.

Easy - let him have a year off, pop Kenny back in charge to keep things ticking over and then Klopp can return after his year in Benidorm and take charge for another 7 years. Simples

Klopp's loving life here and I don't think he's going anywhere. I fully expect him to sign an improved deal.

However, nothing should ever be taken for granted. And I hope that the club are trying to build from within, so when Klopp does leave we will have someone within the coach team who can take over.  A new boot room, if you will  :nod
