ALBERTO AQUILANI - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby HacksawJimDuggin » Wed Aug 05, 2009 5:54 pm

Firstly - All the best Alberto. I really hope you have a long and illustrious career with Liverpool.

I am happy Rafa has moved for a replacement so quickly but I have 3 major concerns -

1) Time for a foreign player to adapt to ELP meaning he won't slot in as an immediate replacement Xabi
2) He is Italian and they don't have a great track record in the ELP
3) If he can only managed 15 games per season in the non contact chess like game in Italy how is he going to cope with the demands of the game here???

I have a lot of trust in Rafa but I must admit to being more than slightly concerned by this purchase. I hope I am proven wrong.

How many italians bar Dossena have bombed in the prem ?

Zola,Vialli,Di Canio,Carbone,Ravenelli,Casaraghi(until injured), all did well  just not many have actually come to the prem - well not many of the top internationals - most prefer to stay in italy or go to germany or spain .

i dont see the point of buying silva

hes currently 2nd choice to riera on the left of spain

if youve brought riera and have faith in him why buy silva?

He isn't second fiddle to Reira mate he has been injured.

I can't bear the fact that the Mancs may steal him

He'd make a far better number 10 than the one we've got for starters.

im not a massive silva fan anyway

hes lightweight as foook, his goal record for a winger is poor and he has slightly better than average pace

id want a pure pacey winger instead of him

Well he's not 'just' a winger - he can play across the front and drop into the support.

Anyway - this ones about Aquilani.
