He's a different player than Xabi. Still a "playmaker" but likes to get forward more. He's also not really a holding player. it might be we go for Cattermole too as this roma lad is definitley a offensive player.

Uh oh....I was hoping this wouldn't happen......am worried about his medical record...then again, how the hell would I know more than a club just about to invest 18M on the off-chance that the guy is not a permanent sick-note ? I trust the bean counters and Rafa know what they're doing.....At least, I bloody hope so !

That is a bit steep price imo. He won't play 30 games a season and he won't be missed much in Roma since he is often injured anyway and they have De Rossi, Pizarro and Perrotta.

I love his shoot though but I do wonder how this would pan out...

To be honest all prices are generally inflated now thanks to Real Madrid. And we probably sold Xabi at an inflated price so we cannot expect to not have it both ways.

He is a quality player and that is what he needed. Let's hope he stays fit.

my thoughts exactly....

20m i'd like to think ... 10 from xabi sale, 5 from dossena,arbeloa and 5 we had before.... hope so anyway . Another couple of back ups might be bought.
