French Open is good to watch but why havn't the governing bodies fecked with the surface to even the playing field, like they've done at Wimbledon so serve and volley is non-existant now ? :(

Federer got to the last three French open finals so is clearly the second best clay court player in the world.

As Nadal is now out - he is and should be, the favourite.

I had to google that but he has reached the 3 previous, Id have sworn it was only 2, but then Im a tool.

In one way I hope he wins it because it takes a rare breed of player to conquer all the surfaces and lift the 4 grand slams, hell Sampras couldn't even do it, but in other ways I hope he gets stuffed becasue if he wins he always BLOODY CRIES!  :sniffle

Venus Williams should show him how a real man does it

He has also consistently beaten the other top ten men Nadal Djokovic - the lot as well as winning a fair number of Masters Titles to fully earn the right to be called Number 3 in the world . I think he will win a slam - his best chances are the US and the Aus open due to hard court but to get to the quarters in the French is a good result for him and think he will get to the semis at Wimbledon .

You see, this is one of the big issues I have with Murray - he plays like a girl.

Double-handed backhand!?! It's a ladies' shot!!!

He's such a ponce. He kisses his biceps (which are roughly the size of knots in cotton), having played like a feeble bint.

I am telling you now, hand on heart - double-handed shots are, always have been and always will be for poofs.

Disagree there. It should be:

Double-handed back-hands are for players who are too weak or technically inferior to control the racquet with the one hand.

It really is as simple as that.

And I thought Federer was being given a lesson? :D

Why do you conclude that I am jealous just because I don't like double-handed shots, or the main exponent of the style?

Grow up. You want to cream your pants over a third-rate player with all the manners of a serial rapist - good for you.

I tend not to support anyone with a Murray-esk attitude because to me it is wholly disagreeable.

Wrong.

Statistics show that the double-handed backhand is now the dominant choice among professional players.

It gives more power and control on return of serve and on high balls, which are two crucial areas in the modern game.

Lando's right though..... most double handed backhanders never started of with it.... from a young age almost all players are thought the single handed backhand. When they get more proficient, coaches analyse their strengths and convert them to a double handed if the back hand is their weak link.

Of course, the double hander is now THE dominant shot on the southpaw wing.... but technically, I agree with Lando.... double backhanders are generally not as technically proficient as the single handed backhand....

Best backhand I've ever seen actually belonged to a tiny lady..... Justin Henin

A couple of points:

1. The person in the video is a woman. - Score 1 for Lando.

2. It says "It gives more power and control". Score 2 for Lando.

What EXACTLY was your argument, again?

LAndo, players like Djokovic and Nadal can play the double handed backhand well, as can Murray. The single hand gives you more reach and presicion, but sometimes for the power a double handed one is perfect... not gay as you put it.

Of course it's gay! A man should not need two hands to generate enough power in a tennis shot!

The single-hander is the most technically demanding shot in tennis. If you can't play it, you have no place on the World tour.

It's for people who are lacking in talent and should be banned.
