In the last 30 years nobody comes close to Maradonna. Not old enough to know how good other legends actually were.

for sheer single handed individual brilliance it has to be maradona, mainly due to the 1986 world cup. for overall genius and achievement it has to be pele.

call me worsel gummage. i'm sitting on the fence between those two. :p  :D

Sigh.....
I voted for Pele.
He was a gifted player who didn't have to cheat. He is also a humble man, never troubled with drugs, he didn't need any performance enhancements.
To be fair, Maradonna came from a more modern generation; the pressure to perform must have been immense.
This shows how important it is to surround the likes of Rooney with the right sort of people.

no contest. it is maradona. He single handedly took the worst argentina team i have ever seen to the 1990 world cup final. And he was 60% fit the whole tournment. And just look at where napoli are without him.

The greatest player in the world.
