I have to say on my behalf that the quote me on that bit was a joke.

Having said that, I won't ever make a prediction in newkit, as it's getting ridiculous.  I'm not bad at getting right the quiniela (a spanish lottery about getting right results of football) at all, so that's why I dare to make predictions often. But it's fair to say that my prediction rate in newkit is getting funny levels

I'm gutted as i was supporting holland but hey thats football , russia took the game to holland and they kept sniejder quiet and van der vart quiet , well guess i'll be rooting for spain now .

On the side note , what a good game arshavin had , cracking player .

The thing I don't understand about Arshavin, is he used to play with Skrtel before we bought him, surely our scouts must have noticed him while they were scouting Skrtel? Secondly I have often wondered whether when we buy a player, if we ask them about any good players at their previous club?

Presumably after buying Skrtel we were skint so couldn't make an offer for Arshavin as well.

But honestly, how many times have Holland done this, magnificent in the group stages only to crumble when it matters most.

TBH I don't think Benitez is particularly interested in the player mate because (as you say) you'd think he would know a fair bit about him having scouted Skrtel and would have moved for the player before the Euros started although very few clubs are willing to do a deal if they can get a whole lot more post-tournament. We will have to wait and see, i imagine there will be anauction for this guy now, it's just the way it works.
