Cheers for that Mick.

Great ball of Alonso to Villa, great finnish. 1-0.

I was going to comment that England was showing to be a very tough rival, we were more comfortable with the ball against Germany, or Russia.

I think that England has something to say in the next world cup, the only thing I don't like of them is the keeper and the lack of quality upfront when Rooney is not there.

Would have liked to have seen Riera start could have been good for his confidence he still hasn't come out of his recent slump, hopefully he plays a few minutes in the 2nd half.

Is it me or does Torres just not look comfortable on the spanish team?  Villa suits their style of play a lot better than he does most of the time when I watch Spain play.  It could be that opposing teams pay more attention to Torres so Villa is open more too but I still think he doesn't look like himself most of the time.  At least when I watch them play that is.

Nah, he's still the best option alongside Villa to play two strikers Zidane.

The thing is that Spanish has the ball, moves it left to right, makes the oppo run after the ball, so when we reach the 3/4 of the pitch it's a very positional attack, in which the pace and runs of Torres are not seen as often as are in England. Thus it seems he's not that comfortable, but he's the same quality player, quite simply Spain doesn't use often one of his best abilities -- However Spain won against Germany with one of Torres' runs.

I think Spain may look for a second until 60 and then take them off
