Yeah Dukes has been doing a lot work up front but it doesnt look like he will score in a brothel

Dunno about the keeper decision but with what Guus has done i guess he gets a few 'get out of jail cards'.
It would have been shame if we had gone out because that decision would have been his legacy i think among the bandwagon supporters

Agreed on both comments

Australia look as if they'll struggle to score from open play, with setpieces and penalies being there likeliest chance to score. With Viduka up front I think thats where if anywhere the Aussies will come unstuck. Providing you dont have that poor excuse as a goalkeeper playing for you  :D

But credit where its due and if there is one thing that Australia have in abundance that England dont. Its team spirit, amazing !. It reminds me a tad of Liverpool in the CL.

Well done Oz I'm off to work now and no doubt that will be the topic of conversation even if Kewell was offside  :;):

Do you reckon Graham Poll will referee anything other than a Sunday pub comp??

Can someone please give me a decent referee for Tuesday's match against the Azzuri?? Is there such a creature at this world cup??

Ho hum!! :D

Thats part and parcel of the WC I'm afraid and in fairness Poll was'nt given the Croations the 50-50 decisions. Until the end he lost control and made a few mistakes thats football and generally the refereeing has been pretty average overall in the tournament. You went on about a level playing field its not just the Aussies who have to put up with it. F.uck me the amount of times we've gone out of WC's because of decisions like that are more than I care to remember, so join the club.

Just pray you don't count 'Count I-book-u-lad', the vampiric little twerp that reffed the England-Paraguay game.  That guy redefines the notion of a fussy ref.  Watched him do the Cote D'Ivoire-Serbia game yesterday.  Tons of cards, a sending off and two penalties...one of which he made Dindane take over because someone had stepped into the box a fraction too soon (without in any way whatsoever effecting the penalty take).  What a muppet! :D

With any luck, you'll get the Argie who reffed the Germany-Costa Rica game...he's been sound!

I take the ref standard if we keep getting the entertaining games and not just the Oz ones. Been a fantastic tourney so far

And yeah Kewell did look a touch offside, must have been in same spot as you get away with handball...........ref blind spot

Wow, what a game!

Initially a Croatia-Australia game, is a game in which I start watching the game absolutelly neutral.

Croatia has better skill in their boots, but only Australia deserved to win because only Australia wanted to play a football game. Since Croatia scored, their cowardly attitude and conformism made me support Australia all the time.

The Ref: He's cráp. There are things that I do not understand. In the first penalty either or you're looking somewhere else or you dont WANT to see what's going on, the Croatian player was holding viduka for 6 seconds!

In second penalty, how come you can see it's a corner and you don't see it's a handball? there are things that I don't understand. So given 2 clear penalties should have been awarded to Australia, I don't care if the 2nd goal of Oz was on off side or not.

I don't understand Hiddink on the keeper choice. He's a third division keeper. In the Croatian goal, he was in the ground FAR TOO EARLY!!!! it was an easy ball, he had to position a little better, put the knee on the ground and save it!! I cannot understand what he did!! but I can't understand why he was playing neither!!! he was :censored: all the game!

Great Kewell game. I'm happy for the Australians!!!!

The Viduka rugby tackle was the one that made me cringe. Fair enough, the referee might not have seen the bear hug that was placed on Viduka but the 'assistant MUST have seen it.

Yeah, I understand that poor refereeing decisions are part and parcel with the modern game but FFS my heart can't take too many of these!!! :D

Kalac...the Australian 'keeper' is Dida's (AC Milan) deputy. Having watched that, I bet AC are a bit nervous.

Seriously, I'm just glad we did get through otherwise the loss (and our failure to reach the final 16 would have been Kalac's legacy to Austrlaian football. And NO ONE deserves that!!!

I'm sorry that's NOT football. These guys are supposed to be the best in the world. If a player played that badly he's be dragged. I expect the same thing will happen to Poll. And he deserves to be dragged too.

I'm not expecting them to be infalable just decent. He's missed two clear cut penalties (for Aust), one offside (against Aust.), three yellow cards to one player...  :suspect:

Not good enough...

I'm sorry but thats the REAL world of football, whether you like it or not there will always be these plonkers refereeing high profile games.

Also in fairness these things do even themselves out, you whinging about the penalties. But Kewells goal was offside you forgot to mention that did'nt you.  :D

Anyway whats done is done your through now, and stop your whinging your begining to sound like a _ _ _   :D
