Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

He's irreplaceable. We're better off trying to stop shipping 30 goals at the other end of the pitch than trying to "replace" him.

Scoring goals is not our problem.

Great player blessed with immense talent ,but one flip of the coin and we land on a dangerously unpredictable individual who is
fuelled with an appetite to self destruct and disappoint all those hoodwinked into believing that such talent would be exclusive
to a club who has backed him almost religiously ......Luis Suarez merits his place at the table of one of the most corrupt clubs in
world football, its a marriage made in Heaven.

The sooner we get shut and let the club move on the better .....Whole thing stinks ,and FIFA  are more than compliant in this
convenient  smokescreen.

Jeez, I'm finding it hard to convince myself that this hasn't been a set-up from the start!
Goofy Tw@t does something ridiculous to start breaking the ties with LFC; massive ban slapped on him, designed to hurt LFC as much as him, thus prising him further from the club; then when the negotiations are nearing completion, FIFA change their minds to allow him to train with the team, and as someone posted earlier, probably lift the ban as soon as he signs for Barcafvckinglona!
All done at a time when he is supposed to be banned from all football activities (which would include tranfers, surely), and B@stidlona are supposed to be banned from buying any players!!!!  WTF is going on?  If all that is actually happening the way it seems, it a bit bloody blatant.
The whole thing seems to have been engineered to force us to sell our most prized asset, one of the best five (three?) players IN THE WORLD, for less than the value we have put on him, when we didn't want to sell him in the first place!  Before the World Cup, I think it was Mark Wright who said that if Barca or Real were hoping to spring Suarez from Liverpool, they'd need to be signing a cheque for between 100 and 120 million! And here's the cheeky cnuts on the verge of forcing us to sell him for 60! Makes my blood boil!!! The sooner the fact that Spain, as a country, is bankrupt catches up with their football teams, the better!
And if that goofy bellend has been complicit in the whole dirty deal, well, I hope someone breaks his fvcking leg for him! Where's Roy Keane when you need him?

The guy gave 200% last season and winning the league ment so much to him. He got us into the Champions league and within touching distance of the league.

I don't want a player of that calibre to leave, but you can't begrudge him for doing so.  He is the best player I've seen play for us in my 24 years of age.

He gave everything, what more can we ask for, but he does have a dark side that has dragged Liverpools name through the pits at times.  We should be as greatful for his contribution as he should be grateful for our support.

Its time to part ways, I can almost guarantee he won't be leaving at a sort of cut price. If anything it'll be minus his 3 million in wages we would be paying him to do absolutely nothing.

Buy another striker, rebuild and learn to defend and we'll be alright.

Difference being he was paid a huge amount to contribute, we PAID to support. I am not going to put a romantic spin on it as he let us down and showed no loyalty to a team that was nothing but loyal to him. I hope he fails at Barcalona on a professional level and regrets not valuing the support he did receive. He will not get that same support at Barcelona and he seems to be a player that needs it. It will be interesting to see how he does in a team full of egos.

Just to be clear I do not begrudge him moving on, but the way he did it showed such little class.

It is always down to cash with 99.9% of players these days.

I would say do it. Write a new contract with a 70 million release, tell him he can go next summer. Convince him to play his heart out and keep his head down and hopefully with a good wc he can be sold for 70 million. If he has a good year he will be chased which is what he wants. If we know it is happening we can plan accordingly.

I dont know if i am the only one but I dont want Luis anymore. 27 coming on 28 banned for four months and the potenital to get 80 million to build the squad.

Bringing in Shaqiri who is 22 and/or Sanchez who is 25 and still having change to bring in an experienced forward I.E Balotelli or Huntelaar

No more controversy no more wondering if he will say or go.

Thanks luis for the memories have a nice time in spain and hopefully we will knock you and your barcelona out of the CL

Said something similar the other day but I'm also beginning to wonder exactly what part LFC have played in this. £75/80m for a player who will be 28 next January is one hell of a lot of money. If our owners and directors agree to sell Suarez it is highly unlikely that the vast majority of fans (more than 90%) would not understand that they had very little choice in the matter given Suarez's desire to join RM or Barca. I believe that the situation actually suits the club because they can cash in on Luis who for all his brilliance has caused more controversy in the few years that he has been at Liverpool than almost any other footballer in the history of the game !! I like his dark side but at times his behaviour is totally unacceptable and the owners have probably realised enough is enough. He has caused problems at every club he has played for. I just hope that Barca suffer a fkg massive migraine care of our resident nutcase  :D

Ben Smith (BBC)

My info on Luis Suarez: What was established at meeting on Wednesday was that #FCB would meet his release clause.

To say a fee is agreed not entirely true. #LFC have told Barca they will sell for release clause not for less. Barca say they will meet it

Also...

Catalan television TV3 confirming that the agreement between clubs for Luis Suarez is total. That is what they met for -to agree a price
