Stan Collymore mentioned the same, not sure how would he know though. If that is true, isn't that around £60m, which seems low.Personally think it will probably be around the £75m mark

AS, the spanish paper are saying 79.5 euros......

Barcelona and Liverpool have closed the deal for Barca player Luis Suarez is the next five seasons. As explained by the journalist Xavi Torres, Barca team will spend 79.2 million euros for the striker, who has for weeks a closed agreement with the club, as AS said.

While the basis of the covenant are closed, negotiation is still alive, of course, although the transfer of Alexis Sanchez could make the outcome much. Or give you more speed or slow it. Chilean forward, who Andoni Zubizarreta labeled as transferable on Tuesday, has interesting proposals on the table, but none closed. But then, at the Camp Nou expect to know how much money they can provide to the relevant payments to Liverpool.

While at Anfield want to charge as much before the transfer, Barça have comfortable asking for payment deadlines and still working at that point.

Club sources consulted by this newspaper said they are not going to "retransmit" negotiations and until they receive authorization not give officers the subject.

Ben Smith (BBC) few mins ago

#LFC waiting to see if Alexis wants to join. Until they know, not certain how Suarez works. Looks increasingly like straight cash

and from BBC north west...

Some reports suggesting Alexis Sanchez may be included in the Suarez deal. So @LFC fans - £63m plus Sanchez a good deal?

Oh yes indeedy. That would do nicely.
But surely that can't be right?
That would value Sanchez at £17M absolute max?
I'd love it to be true, but I can't see it.
It's probly just straight sale, £63M plus the biggest jar of Vaseline you ever saw.

Yea I can't imagine Sanchez and 63... I think if they're wanting to buy him for 63, then we need to lowball the Sh*t out of Sanchez's value, not the 30-35 being thrown around. Sanchez and at least 50, and I'd be happy.

Yeah, as you say Soupy the maths dont really add up. Something like £40m-£50m plus Sanchez would have sounded more realistic.

Liverpool Echo saying their piece....

Luis Suarez is on the brink of leaving Liverpool FC after Barcelona agreed to pay his release clause of around £75million.

The structure of the deal still needs to be thrashed out but the ECHO understands the transfer could be completed as early as next week.

Negotiations between the clubs began in London on Wednesday and progress has been swift.

Reds chief executive Ian Ayre informed the Catalan giants that the Uruguayan striker wouldn't be allowed to leave for less than the release clause in the lucrative contract he penned last December.

After accepting that Liverpool wouldn't budge, Barcelona officials have now vowed to pay the asking price.

The fee of around £75million would shatter the previous highest of £50million the Reds banked when Fernando Torres was sold to Chelsea in January 2011.

Reports in Spain suggest Suarez, who cost the Reds £22.8million from Ajax three and a half years ago, has already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with Barcelona.

Liverpool would have accepted Barca attacker Alexis Sanchez plus around £45million for Suarez but it looks set to be straight cash.

The Chile international is reluctant to leave the Nou Camp and is still considering his options. His representatives have spoken with both Liverpool and Arsenal among others.

FIFA has re-iterated that Suarez will not be allowed to train during his four-month ban for biting.

The 27-year-old has appealed against the suspension which runs until late October.

Can't see Sanchez staying at Barcelona with Messi, Neymar and Suarez ahead of him in the pecking order.
But if he was going to join us you'd imagine he would have been part of this deal.
We've got no other option but to take the money and move on.

It's gonna be grey when the transfer goes through, and FIFA comes back and says he'll no longer be penalized at club level, only for Uruguay.

Another point is that he may not want to be the make weight in the Suarez deal and wants to be purchased for himself.

Bringing in Shaqiri who is 22 and/or Sanchez who is 25 and still having change to bring in an experienced forward I.E Balotelli or Huntelaar

No more controversy no more wondering if he will say or go.

Thanks luis for the memories have a nice time in spain and hopefully we will knock you and your barcelona out of the CL
