His interview after the match was funny, great character to have in our dressing room/team.  Leading by example, he'll drag everyone to success one way or another.

Interview with Suarez in tomorrows mirror

Luis Suarez wants Liverpool to aim for Cup success - because he reckons they are not title contenders.

The Reds were tipped as possible dark horses for the Premier League during the summer.

But the Uruguayan frontman insists Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are "unreachable".

Defeats to Stoke and Spurs, combined with the power, depth and experience at Chelsea, City and United, have set the top three apart.

Suarez said: "We have no limit and want to stay in the top four. But winning the Premier League is now very difficult.

"The main reason why it is so difficult is because the two Manchesters and Chelsea are unreachable. But we can win the Cups."

Under Roy Hodgson last season Liverpool could get no further than the Third Round of the FA Cup where they were put out by United.

It was a similar story early in the Carling Cup where they were humiliated by lowly Northampton.

This season, however, under Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool are unbeaten at home and have eased through their first two games in the Carling Cup, winning at Exeter and Brighton.

Suarez has hit a total of five goals from nine appearances in all competitions already this season, including goals in Liverpool's latest wins over Wolves and Everton.

Yet he has admitted he knew nothing about the background to the famous No.7 shirt - formerly worn by Kevin Keegan, Peter Beardsley and Dalglish - that he now sports.

Suarez said: "I didn't know the history of my No.7 shirt at Liverpool. I picked it because it was one of the few numbers available.

"Now that I know the story I am proud to wear the '7' and I try not to feel the burden of its heritage."

Suarez has also revealed his manager has left no stone unturned in his bid to make him feel at home at Anfield.

He went on: "Dalglish tries to talk to me in Spanish and tries to help me. I appreciate that. I am liking the Premier League more than I could imagine."

I hate that attitude.  Stevie G said the same sort of thing during the group stages of the CL in 2005 and Rafa rightly told him off for it.

I know 4th is our target but we definitly wont do better if we have the attitude that the other clubs are untouchable.

It's called reverse psychology.

Hopefully so!  It can be helpful at times to play the underdog card so long as we dont actually believe it.

Suarez comments are just another example of how Kenny and co have instilled a modestness around Anfield where any chat of winning this, that and the other is kept where it should be - under wraps.

I would love us to be challenging for the title this year and at this stage we cannot be discounted and are doing OK after a decent start to the season. However my head tells me we are playing for a best of 3rd as I can't see past the Manchester clubs. I hope I am proven wrong mind you!!

we're about to go on a no lose run until new year - I've seen it countless times before. We wont lose now until into January but even then I can only see us losing maybe twice more this season.  :;):

He's being honest.  He doesn't want to sit here and say we're big title contenders like Harry Redknapp would.  When the big clubs believe we aren't title contenders, they treat our games more like they're playing Villa, spurs or Everton instead of one of the huge games.  That's why we've done so well the past few years against the best clubs... They aren't up for it as much as we are.

Actually no, it's not just now but it's since forever that we've done well against big clubs, not because they underrate us, but because we're just that kind of a team. No matter how bad we've played for the whole season, when we play against bigger teams we give more than our best. But because we've done bad for the season, when smaller teams play against us they see a chance to beat one of the top clubs and that's why we usually screw up against smaller teams, they play the match of their life against us. Hope that that team will be Arsenal this season. A bit off topic, sorry.

Patrice Evra on Canal plus said that Suarez said some racist remarks to him to try to wind him up.
