Yeah, really sad for the Australians again. They give their best and play with passion but always end up being unlucky. Similar to 2006.

Never expecting to get out of that group but very please with my country performance. Good signs for future with next crop of socceroos coming though.

Wasn't never expecting the team to be at the same airport departure lounge as the Spanish though

How ribery got voted third in world player of the year is a complete mystery. Robben always has and will be by a mile the better of the two for bayern.

He's absolutely electric and with him and van persie up top it wouldn't suprise me if the dutch win it.

I can't see the Dutch winning it they will crack as the always do in the end. I know everyone was raving about the Dutch thrashing the Spanish but after the last round of games was it Spain making them look better than they are, the Aussies pushed them really hard

Yeah I agree, apart from Robben and Van Persie the Dutch team looks pretty average on paper. If Liverpool signed half of their players (Vlaar, De Guzman, De Jong, this version of Scheijder etc) I'd be gutted.
Spain's shambolic defending (and goalkeeping) made them look like world beaters.

Same could be said about Germany, they always screw it up in the end. But I can't see anyone other than Germany or Holland winning this one.

I can't see a European team winning it in South America myself.

I know what you mean but do you believe that Brazil or Argentina have the needed quality to win it?

Even half fit Suarez is still a brilliant player, Gerrard has had an awful end to the season.

You cant single Gerrard out again? The only players who played well for England last night were Rooney and Cahill. Baines had a decent second half.... The rest of them were awful. Sturridge done one decent thing all match and gave the ball away every other time, I thought him, sterling and Johnson were shocking to be quite honest.

Because of how bad he is its impossible not to point out his poor touch going into the area then the weak attempt at a tackle by the defender that contributed heavily... Must admit though, I nearly fell off my hospital bed when I seen the run and positivity

Johnson has had two great games for England, Sterling had a bad game last night due to being given all dead end balls. feel for SG two big mistakes in a year has cost him everything .

Gerrard was awful over the two games Stu, he's been a fantastic player but IMO he's getting perilously close to going down the Phil Neal route of going on too long.
Apparently even the Uruguayans targeted his lack of mobility which a sad considering Gerrard was once the quickest centre mid I've seen in all my years of watching football.
