Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Not exactly relevant but it made me laugh...
What a complete and utter @r$ehole El Hadji Diouf was...

And now Diouf, when asked by RMC Sport which club he regretted playing for, he said: “I would say Liverpool.

“Because if I had the chance again I would go to Manchester United or Barcelona. At the time they wanted me also.”

He lived in his own dream world that lad.

So we would have moved from Barcelona to Bolton then?

Diouf failed to score for the remainder of the 2002–03 season or at all in the 2003–04 season which saw him pick up 13 yellow and one red card which came on 7 January 2004 when he was sent-off in a 1–0 away win against Chelsea for fouling Adrian Mutu.[15][16] By then he had become unpopular due to both his attitude and his lack of goals. Jamie Carragher later said of him "He has one of the worst strike rates of any forward in Liverpool history. He's the only no. 9 ever to go through a whole season without scoring, in fact he's probably the only no. 9 of any club to do that. He was always the last one to get picked in training."[10] At the beginning of the 2004–05 season he was loaned to Bolton Wanderers.[10] At the end of the season-long loan — and after scoring a mere six goals in 80 appearances with only three in the league — Diouf left Liverpool signing permanently for Bolton in the summer of 2005.[10]

Potential title race into the next phase of CL and maybe a run in the FA cup.

Do we need reinforcements? Fek yeah we do but who can we get....

Lyon travel to Ukraine tonight and need a result against Shakhtar Donetsk to progress to the knockout stages. If they fail to get through, I wonder if we might be on the phone to them…….

I doubt it - and certainly not for Fekir who has a dodgy knee and missed half their games this season so far with injuries

Is that true mate, he's been out for half the season so far?

I think we dodged a bullet when we walked away from the Fekir deal.

Looking at his french league stats since May of this year, they're far from encouraging.

He's missed six out of sixteen games, (not even in the squad)
Has complete 90 minutes in just three matches and has played less than twelve minutes in three others (came on as sub ?)
Has scored two goals and made two assists.

Far from being the ideal reliable and creative replacement for the departed Countinho.

Yep he has missed nearly half the amount of league games , apparently he is being “managed” and had niggles but it’s clear his knee just isn’t strong enough - shame as his is a great player

He was part of the French squad that won the World Cup so he probably missed the first month or so of the season and was then eased back in? So wouldn't be surprised if he's missed a chunk of their league games but haven't look it to myself.

He was around for the start of the French season

It appears he is being saved for CL matches - being put in front of the telly to try and get a bit more money for him
