Out played over 180 minutes by Southampton. Well done to them.
As for us,  let's see what summer brings.  Yeah OK.

Thought we didn't do enough in either leg to make it to the final but credit to Southampton for the way they played.  I hope they can keep their record up in this cup and beat Manure.
Again we find ourselves dominating teams only to be left short when it counts. Our slow build up play is ridiculously painful to watch as is watching us constantly recycle it in front of their box till we lose it and expose ourselves on the counter. Over and over again the same thing. The players we have just aren't good enough. We supposedly took all their best players and yet they can go in to a cup semi with a makeshift defence and progress to the final at our expense. It isn't like we fielded a weak team either and they aren't short of experience when it comes to these type of games.
Its probably for the best anyway because I couldn't handle losing another final to Manure..

Another chance of silverware gone . Looks like a trophy for Mourinho in his first season as usual  :no

Terrible build up play , so slow and predictable, going backwards more than forwards . I like a passing game but not that f*cking much - so fustrating , I dont know what Lallana was doing tonight skipping about like a wee fairy

We will beat Chelsea of course ..and all will be forgotten  :buttrock thats how we roll

It was an inept display however it was very much expected result taking in consideration the pathetic performances since boxing day of 2016, the top manager (nutcase) had really struggled to ask of his exhausted players to carry on producing the goods on the one and only platform of tactic, whereas there is no plan B, C, etc.

From the outset of yesterday game the team has looked beaten especially in the first half, where there was no urgency, no intensity, no new adopted playing plan, too much possession of square and back passes, too many light weight tackles (Whereas the nutcase has promised Southampton's manager that the second leg will be an intense war) a f*cking hot air of a failing manager and he knows that totally. There was no point reaching the final, because M.Utd name is already on it!

It is hopefully by the weekend the nutcase team will be out of all cups, and he ought to focus to cement a sixth or seventh place in league!

The only positive that you can take from this games the performance of Alexandra, and CAN who should never be replaced, in stead it should had been Henderson the old donkey, a (MASTER OF SQUARE PASSES) how many times in match he was on to shoot at goal, but because of his donkey brain he has opted to a square pass!.. Could you please tell me how LFC would win things with a Captain like this donkey!!!!!!!!...  No Liverpool midfield or forward players managed to run at their defense, they were all standing waiting to receive the ball and trying to threaded with useless passes through a wall of thick defense, only CAN and Alexandra managed to do that few times!..... Come on and be real this club is in a deep Sh*t, and please don't run your emotion high and forget about the early season hypes of wining things under this nutcase manager, the results of end of season are only counts, go and ask the past masters of great Liverpool teams about it!  I really doubt if  nutcase could win a per-season trophy!!
This club is in deep decline and it will remain so until there is a major overhaul.
SAD TIMES, BUT IT WOULD APPEAR WE ARE GETTING USED FOR IT EVERY SECOND HALF OF EACH SEASON!!

Kinell you are a fkg loony !! You actually thought that Can and TAA were so good that they should never be replaced. For the most part Can was at his ineffective best. And TAA did very little to get excited about,in fact a lot of the time he was invisible.

72 % of the play, 8 of the worst taken corners I've been unfortunate to see , 13 shots with only three on target 5 opportunities that would have been easier to score than miss  and three of those falling to a player labouring foolishly under the belief the reds fans present at  Anfield are blind to his treachery. I don't care about loss of form and I don't care about his apparent despondency, those chances that fell to Sturridge were meat and drink to a striker and like I stated earlier in my post easier to slot than blaze over the bar. I mean this is Sturridge a player who puts the ball either side of the keeper and more often than not picks out a corner of the net that two f*cking keepers couldn't save.

Our play was laboured and Southampton's was quick and intricate, our passing was aberrant and the complete antithesis of the fluent football we've seen played at Anfield this season, yes the Saints were the better more composed outfit, but their performances merited playing against a reds side on full tilt and one not dulled by a lack of belief.

The procrastination of greatness ...... some of those eleven who played last night seem intent on stalling our rise under the best manager we've had since Benitez.

I still can't believe how dramatically the wheels have fallen off our title challenge, I knew there would be ups and downs (just like there are every season) but f[vc]k me since Christmas we've haven't just stumbled we've pretty much f[vck]ing imploded. If we put out a young side on Saturday and they get beat and then we lose to Chelsea on Tuesday our season would be practically done and dusted.....in January!
These next 2 games are season defining, lose these and we'll be essentially kicking our heels till next August.

In that scenario, it would be all about CL qualification and even with that we would have to sort ourselves out to secure it. Truth is, any of the 5 teams behind Chelsea could take take 2nd to 4th, so it will be dogfight.

Big advantage we have over our rivals is no Europe but got to admit, we have lost that energy/buzz we had in the first few months and need to find our mojo back and quick. Luckily there is still plenty of the season to play so gives us time to sort ourselves out while we are still only 2 pts pf second.

Think we will see a return to form and maybe this poor month will give us a kick up the backside at the right time

Why are we soo poor at taking corners or even crossing the ball. I'm sure Milner has the ability to kick the ball a little higher.
Crossing into the box is always a great opportunity, a chance or even a knockdown. We never seem to find our man.

So you think he's culpable ? He lost two of the players he brought in to improve the team and finds himself left with only unproven kids and basically the team that capitulated so disgracefully against Seville and the players he wants to improve the squad further aren't available in this months transfer window  :glare:  to add further insult to injury he has a striker walking around with a mug like a slapped ***** who has not only threw his toys out of the pram he's swallowed the f*cking baby monitor.

So within that squad he has Milner who has been brilliant but now seems to be having a dip in form, he has Can playing badly, he's only just got Coutz back, Wjinaldum cant play with Can on the same pitch, Lallana's blistering early form has gone walkabout , only Firmino is willing to press the play from the front and Klavan looks too easily exposed by pace and he has teams tipping up Anfield committed to putting 11 behind the ball, something I'm sure you will concur has been our Achilles heel for every manager since Houllier was in charge.

So with that said, it seems churlish that some  fans seem way too eager to compile a list of his supposed crimes  ??? I can only declare I have no affinity or for that matter understanding of the modern football fan and for that much I am extremely thankful !

Oh come on RBG, riding the high horse, you were vehemently defending Rodgers just like now once, and then all of a sudden, YOU turned on him dramatically too. Klopp is partly to blame for this downfall. Let's call it as it is. As I've always said the buck always stops with the manager. He underestimated this Christmas period. That's it! You've got one of your strikers that you would rely on (Ings) out for the rest of the season. You know that Mane was gonna leave for the ANC. You alienated the best striker you have, marginalized him when it comes to playing him. You fell out with the best CB you have (right or wrong) and yet you didn't do enough to strengthen the squad in January. The "selling clubs didn't want to sell" is abit of a too convenient excuse isn't it? Only the Matip case was something that can be considered unforeseen.

On top of that, when it comes to tactics, you have the "the-first-team-put-out-is-the-best-team-and-tactics-so-I-don't-really-want-to-change-anything" attitude. In alot of the games you substitute too late, change things too late, have un-used subs. You have inexperienced youngsters on the bench. Who's fault is all that? All teams go through injuries. It's part of the game. That's why you are PAID to manage the team. And you are paid handsomely too!

As for Sturridge case, who can blame him for dropping form when it is clear that you are not wanted by the manager and only come back and rely on you when there is no one else left. Sturridge's bad performance was ONE game. Klopp's bad performance has been 5-6 games.
