First leg of the League Cup Semi Final tuesday night 8pm kick off

They are in good form and we are in poor form

If it were an earlier round i would have suggested sending the kids out, give youth a chance, but when you get to the Semi Final stage surely we must go all in ?

Play our best 11, do we know our best 11 ?

Hendo, Studge, Milner are said to be "in contention" for the game which will certainly help

Flanno has 45 minutes scheduled for tuesday with the u21's so is nearly back and could be back for fridays FA Cup tie away to Exeter

Really simple...  Play like a bunch of half arsed fuckwits (refer to West Ham game) and this lot will turn us over 3 or 4 nil.

Studge still out..

Stoke will go full force in this one. A draw would be a good result.

Yep, Stoke didn't just beat City and United at home recently they wiped the floor with them, they put 4 past Everton when they beat them at Goodison as well, as you say if we don't turn up tomorrow the second leg could become academic.

On current form its about survival, staying in tie like the second rate outfit we have become lately.

Well, I wouldn't even put us as favorites over the 2 legs. We know what game Stoke will play, but who knows what Lfc will play.
If is is like the games lately Stoke will turn us over 2 or 3-0 at Britannia...

We should just park the bus and trying getting something from counters.

I think it's time we started taking some risks. It's beyond obvious that our main problem at the moment is our effectiveness in the final third, or in other words, we can't score goals. IMO that problem is not that much down to the quality of our players but more so to the fact that the players aren't understanding each other, they're not on the same wavelength and we look disjointed because of it.

It's just as usual our luck has abandoned us in crucial moments, so the injuries are in abundance, especially in the FW positions. Out of our 4 strikers only Benteke is fit, and although he's a good player, he isn't really the right type of player to be leading our line at the moment, so we have to improvise. I don't think we need to change too much, but we need to risk it and give Teixeira a chance. With a trio of Coutinho, Firmino and Teixeria on the pitch, joined by Lallana, we have 4 similar attacking players who are all on the same wavelength. It's a risk but it has potential and it might pay off at the end. We can't do much worse than previous games anyway.

                                                               Lucas    Can

                                             Lallana          Coutinho            Teixeria

                                                                  Firmino

We should attack them from the start and go all out for a win because a trophy of any sort or even a final will lift the spirits.  A day out at Wembley is always enjoyable I don't know why after our recent form but I think we will beat them tonight

Looking at the form of both sides, if we try to go to toe to toe with them in the press and attacking intent they’ll trounce us.

Setup compact and play on counter with pace. Like a lot of team nowadays, Stoke like to push up the pitch and leave gaps so the counter will be our best bet I reckon.

We will have our hands full tonight with the likes of Shaquiri, Bojan, Afellay and Arnautovic that's for sure, what's more they still have the likes of Shawcross and Huth etc who are big dangers at set pieces.
Stoke have got a good balance between creativity and physicality in their side and Mark Hughes deserves a lot of credit for what he's done there, they've gone from being one of the worst sides in the league to watch under Pulis to one of the best.

Huth plays for Leicester now mate. Hughes is saying they can make the second leg at our place a formality ,and put the tie to bed at the Britannia. If that kind of statement doesn't inspire our lot then nothing will.

Yeah good spot RBG, as you say Huth is at Leicester now but they have still got a lot of tall players left over from the Pulis era like Shawcross, Cameron, Wilson and Pieters who are all good at getting on the end of set pieces and I think a lot of Hughes's confidence stems from the fact that he knows just how shyte we are at dealing with crosses.
Newcastle and Watford drew the blueprint on how to beat us and unfortunately a lot of teams will be now copying what they did. It's up to us to combat that.

Lets hope the players realise the importance of the game ,and we put in a well drilled performance at the back.
