Supposedly WBA now in for Benteke too

What's the odds on any fee we get for him being put back into the side?

IMO, any fees made from transfers will go directly back into JK's kitty. I think this will be contractual stuff. However, the money won't be spent unless JK can get his man / men...

Money is there now. It's just about finding the right player, convincing them to come here, and then agreeing a deal with their club. We failed to do this with 3 reasonable targets (Chilwell, Zielinski and Dembele) which is disappointing.

I'm not convinced that the Mahmoud Dahoud saga is over. Xhaka and Gundogan were never targets, for different reasons I assume. But Dahoud seems to be a high priority for Klopp. I think more talks will take place with his club before the windows closes.

Think Dahoud is one that probably wont happen this window. German clubs are quite difficult to deal with with when it comes to transfers  and having already lost Xhaka for £35m, dont think they are under pressure to sell. Also few comments from Dahoud himself a few weeks ago that he would be quite happy to stay where he is. Only way I can see it happening is if we put in an offer that they just cant refuse and think your looking at the £25m mark, probably more closer to £30m.

Hector just signed new deal at current club so guess that dismisses rumour about him.

Nothing in the press. But I think we'll buy one before the window shuts and he'll come from either Spain or Portugal.

Some lesser trusted sources are re-spinning the Gary Medel link again, he's at Inter Milan now and one is suggesting Lucas going the other way

He is a decent defensive midfielder (also plays defensive, although quite short) and is decent at best, I would have thought JK would be on the phone sorting a left back

Left back must be priority

This is more like it (dubious source though and injured until October).... Real Madrid Defender Fabio Coentrao linked with us

Reports in Spain are claiming that Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao is set for a move to Premier League club Liverpool.

Catalan newspaper Sport report that the Champions League winners are willing to part ways with the player, and that he is likely to land at Anfield before the close of the summer transfer window.

Sport are suggesting that Coentrao will join the Reds on a loan deal, with the club to get the option to buy at the end.

Liverpool are in dire need of a full-back, especially given Alberto Moreno's clueless performances of late. The Spaniard had an absolute nightmare against Arsenal on Sunday, giving away a penalty in the first half with a silly foul, among other misdemeanours.

Despite the obvious hole which needs filling, Coentrao does not appear that great of an option as he is out injured and will not be ready to play until October.

The 28-year-old suffered a hamstring injury back in April, playing on loan at Monaco.

This bit of news directly contradicts prior reports. A Sunday story in Marca claimed that Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was going to take the gamble on Coentrao, and was happy to wait on his recovery.

Madrid lack cover for Marcelo's position on the flank, and are said to be certain that the market has no better back-up option for the Brazilian than Coentrao.

The player had surgery as a result of the hamstring injury, but has began running exercises in a bid to step up his recovery. He would definitely prove a hit at Anfield, but given the circumstances, a move just doesn't seem ideal for either party.

Coentrao loan rumours are building momentum. Shame he's injured until October, but would be worth a punt on a season long loan.

Good. Stand firm...   £32m no add on bits, cash up front. To be honest they'll probably take £30m for him as a lump sum.
