tbh i can't say I was that impressed with him during the Euro's, he certainly didn't look anything special.
to be fair though as we have found to our cost many-a-time it's never wise to judge a player by his performances in an international tournament.

Agree with previous comments on Hector, looks bang average, Steve Finnan for 22m.

Think its paper talk and we are done now even if Benteke leaves.

I thought Hector did exceptionally well in the Euros tbh. One of the better German players. I think he made the team of the tournament didn't he. Solid defensively, doesn't get caught out of position often, decent crosser and keeps the ball moving higher up the pitch. He'd be worth the 20mill or so in this window.

I'd be over the moon if we'd get another Steve Finnan...

One of the most underrated yet most consistent fullbacks we've ever had.  I'd love another one to fill the left back position.

Agreed!
No heroics, no thrills, no anxious decision making...
Just consistent at doing what he did best. To defend.

On all his paper work, his job description would read - Defender.

If Hector becomes half the play Finnan was id snap him up immediately for £20m. If we do get him I'll be so happy with the business this summer.

Agreed with everyone on Finnan. Also, I think that Hector would be a good signing. Might be slightly overpriced but who isn't these days.

I thought he did ok myself during the euro's. Klopp says we are not looking at the top tier players but ones from the next tier down so IMO Hector fits that bill.

Hector seemed solid enough at the back. He was decent going forward at the Euros up til he got to the touchline. Putting in crosses is definitely not where he excels

I'm becoming increasingly concerned that Milner is going to be our left back going into the season.

I still believe we need to sign someone to fill this position as well as a reliable, solid DM. I wish we went for Kante

Serious questions need to be asked of Klopp if he thinks going into the season with Moreno and Milner as the options at LB is adequate. We won't even have Flanno to call on by the looks of it.

Just get it sorted and bring in a decent left back FFS.

Perhaps JK will deploy a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-3 or a variation = 3-6-1?
Who knows what JK is thinking, but he doesn't seemed worried.
Perhaps 3 at the back is his long-term thinking. Milner would easily make a good wing back.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Not an unrealistic observation JB. 3-5-2 Would certainly suit Clyne and especially Moreno's game.

It does however raise the question "where the fk do we find 3 quality CB's that can play week in week out.

Also, how do we keep the shed load of attacking talent we have on our books happy ? given they'll all be vying for one of just 4 (maybe 5) positions .
