Cost us the FA Cup Final ? Really ?

Anything else you want to blame Pepe

He won us the Carling Cup - the last trophy we won, and guess who won us the trophy before that.

Sorry but Mignolet will earn his own plaudits without the need to put the boot into Pepe after his wonderful 7 years service with us.

Here is a collection of his saves from last season - plus his mistakes

Mignolet will do exactly that, but I genuinely think your view is blinded because of Pepe's time with the club. Right now I'd rather have Mignolet, no doubt about it

Mignolet has impressed me, with some cracking saves, but he needs to work on bossing the box and making the right decisions when it comes to going for crosses.  I know it's early, but every time a cross comes in I get nervous.

Stop comparing. Pepe Reina has created his legacy, and Mignolet will create his.

Any goalkeeper will let in lots of goals if the defence is sh#t. Reason why we make all opposition goalkeepers look like Lev Yashin at his prime is because they come to Anfield to defend and make life easy for their goalies. Last night conceding 2 goals has blown the invincibility of Mignolet myth to pieces. If the defence doesn't buck up, he'll continue to let in lots of goals. Now without Toure on Sunday, it's a scary outlook.

Two months later and I still think that observation is spot on.

Great shot stopper he may be but Mignolet doesn't command his area. Don't know if our defenders aren't listening to him or if he just isn't communicating with them, either way it's a worry.

Nowhere near as Reina. Not even close.

Pulls off alot of camera saves where Reina would simply stand still and catch it.

Two or three levels below Pepe for me.

Did Ferguson say that?  Mign is a bit of a flapper but there are areas of his game that I think are better than Pepe's.

Pepe is clearly a better keeper than Mignolet. There is not one area that Mignolet is better than Pepe IMO

Shot stopping maybe?

At least Mignolet hasn't lost us points so far this season. Saved us a few times actually. You guys obviously have a bad memory. He's had 2-3 average games in a row (games which we didn't lose) and you people start saying he was a wrong signing. We're in the top 4 at the moment after 9 games and he's one of the reasons why. I'm glad he's here.

Shot stopper but that is only my opinion. Could be wrong. Saved a penalty as well. Pepe hadn't done that for a long time at Liverpool but that's just me clutching at straws

I asked you to enlighten me. I and several others have already praised Mignolet for his shot stopping ability, maybe you don't bother to read previous posts ?

In any case, shot stopping aside in what other areas of his game do you think Mignolet is better than Pepe ?

Saving penalties - oh I think I said that. Did I say stopping shots.  Stop being a pedant.

His motivation to keep himself in shape and do everything he can to play to the best of his ability? At the end of the day Pepe may well be the better keeper but he looked jaded with us and I'm not convinced he did everything he could to keep his weight down.
