Suarez may be mercenaric but I don't think he is thick. Recently in speaking to reporters he added that it was lack of European football and inability to challenge for PL were other reasons for wanting to leave. Now this, though hard to swallow for a fan, I can accept. If he continued to harp on the harsh treatment from the British media, that is not a good reason to want out because he asked for it. However, I won't dislike him as much as McManaman and Owen when those 2 b'uggers left because he is giving us and RM plenty of time to get a replacement , he just want to go to greener pastures. And that I can't blame him, because he is a world class player at his prime and he would be wasting his time at a club that is still at mid table, a work in progress and will take many more seasons to finish top 4, to win the PL maybe not for another 23 years.

I've said it before, I used to think that H.Mkhitaryan would be an awesome replacement for Suarez by just purely looking at the goals scored in youtube. But if you look at the videos that show his play throughout a 90 minute game like Mkhitaryan vs Chelsea, vs Dynamo Kiev, Vs Dortmund, Vs Denmark, I realised that he is overrated. Here's my personal opinion, he has the pace and can score goals when the opportunities are there BUT he will not be a direct replacement for Suarez. His ball control is no where near the standards of Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge, Enrique or even Downing. He is either lazy or no confidence when he has the ball, I noticed that he just quickly passed the ball away 80% of the time when he gets the ball. His passing and finishing are not that good either. He may be player of the year multiple times in Armenia, but in the PL where defence and goalkeepers are much better, it will be hard for him to shine. I hope BR will look elsewhere for an attacking midfielder, I am just not impressed by Mkhitaryan.

After all the negative articles that have been posted I thought I'd post a positive one. Well done BR:

Man City seem to think his value is decreasing for some reason - if you believe the press:

EXPRESS
MANCHESTER CITY could launch a surprise £35million bid for Liverpool's want-away striker Luis Suarez.

By: John RichardsonPublished: Sun, June 23, 2013

Not prepared to meet the £53m escape clause for Napoli's Edinson Cavani, new Etihad boss Manuel Pellegrini is looking to switch his attention to his Uruguayan teammate.

And Liverpool, now reluctantly resigned to losing the former Ajax star, would welcome a bidding war as they look for a big profit on their £23m outlay for the striker.

Suarez is keen to join Real Madrid, who have made noises about signing the 26-year-old over the past month.

The player has used his time in the Confederations Cup in Brazil to press home the view that he is being driven out of England through media criticism.

But Liverpool, who have supported him through a number of controversies, feel let down and an auction would give them the final decision on where Suarez goes. That has alerted ambitious City, although a bigger challenge for them is to persuade Suarez to remain in England.

Bayern Munich are also interested, which Liverpool hope will drive the price up further.

no way would he go to city, after moaning about the press in this country he`d look like the biggest hypocrite of all time if he went there.
we shouldnt be selling our best players to other english teams anyway, if we have got to sell them then sell them abroad.

I don't think he would go to a rival PL team either, but we sold Torres to Chelsea.

This is a completely different situation.

Suarez can't blame the English press for wanting to leave us despite professing his love for LFC... then sign for City.  This rumour has absolutely no legs and you can quote me on that!

Trying to make some sense of the situation, Liverpool clearly planned their transfer window raids 3+ months ago and I'm sure, would have  mapped out the likely first team for Suarez before he went down to Brazil. So all LFC are doing now is implementing what was agreed. It won't be any surprise to Suarez we're picking up these lads and he'll know how they're intended to be used to complement him and the team in general.

So I don't understand where he's coming from by mouthing off. Ok, we're not buying Messi or Ronaldo however they're bright hopes, all Spanish speaking and he'll have the chance to mould them to play exactly where and how he wants them. Like Kenny did with Rushie etc..

I'm baffled why our macho, guacho, cannibal lunatic can't keep his mouth shut when so far the club have picked up every player they told Suarez they would do - all attackers.  And hopefully we'll pick up the Greek to divert the ref's attention away from his own stupidity.

Its going to be a bit odd if he's still with us on the first day of the season.

The only thing that will be odd is littany of lemmings, sorry "Liverpool fans" being forced to cheer him on as he goes out and has another mecurial season for us if he stays.

The same fans baying for his blood and making this whole debarcle more than what it seems. So he says he wouldn't mind going to Faildrid. Big deal! The media then go out and print the same thing over and over again, making it sound like he has said it multiple times, while the lemmings dance with joy as their enemy number one (yes, our own player) seems bound for another club.  :no

How can you or I from our living room chairs determine how many times he's said he wants away? I think it fair to say it 'appears' to be 3 or 4 times - what do you think? Are the press not allowed to report this, we prefer to live in the dark?

Its all a bit sad really, I support LFC not Suarez FC.

Err by the interviews he has had.

Since flying over to Uruguay to play in qualfiers and the WC he has had 2 interviews where he has spoken about Real Madrid.

Easy to quantify mate, stop spreading BS.

No, it's twice.

Is this the same press that keep writing different stories using the SAME quotes from these two Suarez interviews?
Is this the same press that went into meltdown when Whiskey Nose and the frog bended reality to make him out to be "racist"? Which could be nothing further from the truth?
Is this the same press that wrote NOTHING about John Terry 'the lion heart' getting four weeks for something which was far worse?
Is this the same press that has hammered Luis for diving but wrote NOTHING on Gareth 'the greatest player in the UK' Bale every time he goes for a tumble when he feels he needs to "earn" a free kick?
Is this the same press the lauded the Owl while our club was disintegrating?
Is this the same press that wrote lie after lie after lie in the worst ever cover-up about Hillsborough?

The press are to report facts mate. Not distort the truth which is what they are doing with Suarez and have done time and time again in the past.
