MANCHESTER CITY could launch a surprise £35million bid for Liverpool's want-away striker Luis Suarez.

Not prepared to meet the £53m escape clause for Napoli's Edinson Cavani, new Etihad boss Manuel Pellegrini is looking to switch his attention to his Uruguayan teammate.
And Liverpool, now reluctantly resigned to losing the former Ajax star, would welcome a bidding war as they look for a big profit on their £23m outlay for the striker.
Suarez is keen to join Real Madrid, who have made noises about signing the 26-year-old over the past month.
The player has used his time in the Confederations Cup in Brazil to press home the view that he is being driven out of England through media criticism.
But Liverpool, who have supported him through a number of controversies, feel let down and an auction would give them the final decision on where Suarez goes. That has alerted ambitious City, although a bigger challenge for them is to persuade Suarez to remain in England.
Bayern Munich are also interested, which Liverpool hope will drive the price up further.

we shouldnt be selling our best players to other english teams anyway, if we have got to sell them then sell them abroad.

I don't think he would go to a rival PL team either, but we sold Torres to Chelsea.

So all LFC are doing now is implementing what was agreed. It won't be any surprise to Suarez we're picking up these lads and he'll know how they're intended to be used to complement him and the team in general.
So I don't understand where he's coming from by mouthing off. Ok, we're not buying Messi or Ronaldo however they're bright hopes, all Spanish speaking and he'll have the chance to mould them to play exactly where and how he wants them. Like Kenny did with Rushie etc..
I'm baffled why our macho, guacho, cannibal lunatic can't keep his mouth shut when so far the club have picked up every player they told Suarez they would do - all attackers. And hopefully we'll pick up the Greek to divert the ref's attention away from his own stupidity.
Its going to be a bit odd if he's still with us on the first day of the season.
