as others have said an athletic, powerful DM who can cover the ground quickly wouldnt go amiss either, when games lost their structure last season and turned into end to end type basketball games lucas and gerrard really struggled to cope, the only reason we generally held our own in midfield during the second half of the season was that hendo was running a half marathon every game.
i dont think we will bring in a DM though, we all know how highly rodgers rates allen and lucas has just signed a new long term contract so i cant see him spending any significant sums of money in that area.
I've felt, and stated so at some point in the past year or so, That Flanno would make a good defensive mid. The lad obviously is behind a few in the RB role. Something about him reminds me of Mascher. I think he'd do a pretty damn good job there.
BTW, what this has to do with Aspas, I have no idea.
on the first episode of that documentary last year by espn, there was a moment where rodgers pulled flanno aside and was having a word with him and since then i knew he had no part to play under rodgers.
its a shame though because he got great experience under kenny and was one that we thought would progress even further only for him to feature very little last season and id expect it to be the same this year.
