Everyone stepped up today.  Hendo, Coutinho, and Sturrigde all top notch! The way Coutinho shouldered the defender off the ball (just before the second yellow) was promising. The general opinion is that he's lightweight, but he doesn't shy from a challenge.

Fully expected a big win. Not this big, but still, I expected the team to show that they can score without Suarez and Strurridge to step it up as the main striker (though my MOTM is Countinho).

It's kind of ironic that we just had our biggest win right after our main striker was suspended. Those 40 mil (plus Xabi Alonso?) don't sound that bad after all :D.

:D I'm happy life without Suarez doesn't seem all that difficult after all! I really really hope Suarez comes back a lot more reformed in his resolve to keep a lid on his temper. I don't want him to damage the reputation of our club any more.

As for 40 mil plus Xabi, what's that all about?

Pardew has shown exactly what he is capable of this season and Newcastle have been awful. Sunderland gave them a good kicking and by rights we should be more than capable of doing the same. Hopefully the team will take their anger towards the FA out on Newcastle.

Last time Luis was banned for 8 games this was our record: W5 L2 D1 - the team once again has the opportunity to prove that we can survive without Luis.

Amazed that the match thread has virtually no comments and yet Luis's thread in the last week has gone up by 30 pages. That says a lot about this forum.

Great performance. Cortinho is just amazing. Sturridge was impressive. Henderson had a great game.

Just glad I called it right. Just hope the result helps to get the barcodes relegated !!!

Just a rumor that I heard. Seems like the best offer, but I doubt it's true.

6 fking 0  :buttrock

None of us were expecting that !

Outstanding performance from the team, we out-skilled Newcastle in every department .

Was more than pleased when we signed Coutinho but he's far exceeded my optimistic expectations, he's proving to be an absolute diamond. Apart from brilliance with the ball at his feet his vision for the through ball is nothing short of magical, his ball to Sturridge for a goal had me thinking how the fk did he see and accomplish that !

Coutinho my MOM by a country mile, not sure what his contract is but hopefully it's for a long long time  :buttrock

thats one of the best away performances i can ever recall seeing, 70`s and 80`s included.
coutinho was absolutely outstanding and the likes of sturridge and hendo were excellent too.
the second goal was f##king majestic.
regarding the defence i thought enrique did well when newcastle had a spell in the game, he showed quite a bit of recovery pace and strength.

that was a fantastic performance from the lads, absolutely ripped them a new one!
have to say i never thought coutinho would settle as quick as he has and at this rate he is going to be one to watch next season. absolute little genius and MOM by a mile.
hendo and sturridge were fantastic and its a real joy to watch the whole team gel and play some great stuff. they fully deserved that win and it was great that they managed to show what they can do without luis.
we could end this season with 60+ points yet and that would be a fantastic 1st season for rodgers.

Ironic? actually makes perfect sense ,When Luis plays we throw all the balls at him ,he is the center of the attack and usually the last stop. With him out all our offensive mindset changes ,much more movement and cooperation from multiple players.

Coutniho MOTM ,but credit goes to Sturridge ,Hendo and pretty much the rest which played a well balanced ,intelligent, effective match.

What a terrific effort that was after a long week for the football club.

Clear from the off we were determined to win this match and we did in
an emphatic fashion.

As a club I like Newcastle but have no time for their manager who does not
represent the people there at all and so on that personal level I am glad we
put the arrogant Pardew in his place.

We know Liverpool can play like this but our problem is doing it consistently
and unfortunately that is the hardest thing for any team to achieve.

And then they said "no way man, you can't win, Suarez is suspended, who will score the goals?"

Lucus, Henderson and Sturridge were brilliant but Coutinho was MOTM.
