FABIO BORINI- Official thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RED BEERGOGGLES » Thu Oct 18, 2012 7:13 pm

I actually feel for the lad ,he was bought with a significant outlay, and a serious leap of faith from Rodgers, and after a well taken goal against Gomel
and the personal euphoria he experienced at his first strike for the reds ,he could easily have been forgiven for believing his youthful exuberance and
appetite for the game, plus a regular slot in his familiar role would have been sufficient enough to make him a new hero for the Kop .

Alas, he was utilised as a winger with Suarez occupying the main striking role ,certainly not enough to maybe show his poaching abilities . I'm a firm
believer in the philosophy "If its not broke don't fix it"  .... Like I said I cant help feeling a certain amount of sympathy for the lad .

Why the fuck people bother to post their respective opinions when you immediately override its validity by replying to something said at 11:53 in the morning, in I might add a fucking flame war as soon as anyone posts, is frankly too f*cking weird even for me to diffuse .... I will add its starting to
grate a touch ,and sadly indicative of the severity of the decline in older members now using this forum on a regular basis....

Sorry RBG this is the quote I should have replied too - only just come back on the thread after being away for the afternoon.

This is half the problem - people like Roger constantly throwing insults about ? Obvious wums like Hustler posting everywhere ? Returning banned people like LFC1990 and the change in the forum has killed it off.

Liverpool will also be boosted by the return of Fabio Borini to training next week.

The Italian striker has been out since breaking a bone in his foot back in October but the FA Cup tie with Mansfield on January 6 could be his comeback game

Should be back early January according to the Echo. A lot of people have written him off but I think he’ll do well, but from the left or in the centre, not on the right.

define big, because when I say big I mean successful in the here and now so no AC Milan are not as big as they were a few years ago. That doesn't stop them being wealthy or well supported.

he may find it hard to get a game if we sign sturridge, you`d imagine suarez and sturridge would be shoe in`s for 2 of the 3 attacking positions (even if sturridge struggles i can see rodgers sticking with him) and that only leaves 1 place for the other players to compete for.
to be fair to borini it was always going to be tough for a 21 year old from a foreign country and a different style of footy to settle straight away, and at 21 he will deffo improve.
i dont think rodgers has helped him settle either by playing him almost as a winger at times.

Borini showed us again today how useless he is. A duff signing by Rodgers. We need a couple of new players before the transfer window closes.

I'm trying to be display some patience ,he is a young lad ,had a rough patch of bad luck but......From the short amount of time he did play did anyone notice any degree of extra talent which a pub player lacks? Players like Borini are in the thousands out there ,you can find them in the playgrounds ,in the lower leagues ,everywhere a "Borini" type is playing. Got to scratch my head as what BR saw in him and forget about the cost to the club.....I'm trying to capture the slightest display of added value and just can't find it. Neither Fast nor Strong enough ,Not that skillful with the ball ,Game intelligence or passing skills pretty average ,cool in front of goal? no...So What is his Forte?

Strange.

You should have seen him when he played for Roma. Scored in every damn game I saw him play.

Hopefully we can sell him back to Italy then becuase he sure as hell can't play in the Premiership, so few Italians can, although I have no idea why.

he was never the player we needed when bought. might be good for the future but not for the now and thats what we should have bought instead.
just because he didnt perform in that game yesterday is no reason to get rid of him.
rodgers really needs to look at his tactics and indeed see if its getting the best out of the players he has purchased, they are all lightweights who wont get stuck in and without a strong finish to this season i dread to think of what kind of squad we will have for next year.

He is being played out of position for me.
But isnt at this moment in time good enough to play where he will probably be best.

I wont write him off yet but if he only ever plays in the wide positions then he will fail.
Like RBG said i feel sorry for him as it was a big move before being played out of position.

His movement is outstanding by the way.
I watched him closely when he came on against Norwich and was very impressed.
Similar to Hernandez with his movement.
Sabre looks like a big lezzer
