I said it a while ago, and I'm pleased to be able to repeat it now, having (I think) now seen evidence that I was right....

Shelvey is an excellent prospect, and has the potential to replace SG for the long term.  He is the closest thing to SG I have seen, and he has the all round game to be a massive player for us.  Unfortunately for him, but good for us, as he doesn't play for United or Chelsea, he won't get picked for England any time soon.

Phil Jones, Smalling, Cleverley are all lesser players but get jizzed over as they are products of SAF.

Like when he did his Andy Carroll impression and tripped over the ball?

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Both feet left the ground so I agree  :bowdown

Shelvey was excellent in the first half. Everything we did going forward went through him. He looks a bit ungainly but he is a proper prospect and has really taken advantage of the chance afforded to him due to the unfortunate injury to Lucas.

He didn't have a good 2nd half but who did?? And Udinese man marked him in the 2nd half. That's testament to how well he played in the 1st half last night.

I really like Jonjo Shelvey, an absolute bargain for £1.5m, I fully expect him to mature and get even better as age and experience accumulate.

Gerrard was a bit of a mad-ar'se when he was younger: Yellow cards, red cards, two footed tackles etc
Shelvey will calm down and become a better player

That's the type of footballer that is missing from the Premier League, a hard as nails, no nonsense midfielder. Football is becoming a kiddies sport nowadays.
