This was going to citys season. The time when all the pieces of the jigsaw were put in place and they FINALLY knocked their noisy neighbours off their Fu*king perch. They had spent literally hundreds of millions and had the right manager, the right coaching staff, the right stadium, the rich owners, the loyal fans and most of all the right players.
I cant be ar'sed looking through my posts but Im sure when everyone was screaming "hand it over" at the begining of the season when they were tw@tting everybody, I said the wheels would come off because the likes of Tevez and Ballotelli would fu'ck things up. Never have two talented players been so instrumental in bringing down a title challenge. What a pair of absolute tits!
Now you might say "what the fu'ck has this got to do with us?". The point Im making is you can buy the "best" players and spend what you want but if you dont play like a team and work for each other its a waste of time. KK has tried to mould our players into a team. Yes, too much money was spent, but we dont have superstar cranks doing what those two have done. Will Mancini get sacked at the end of the season? Why not? He has failed to win anything whatsoever despite all the money. KK has won a trophy that city tried their best to win. Why would we even consider Mancinin coming in for KK?
Doesnt make sense

I remember the first time I played Championship Manager, back before it became Football Manager. This was in around 1993 up until 2004 before I realised that with the transfer updates i'd be buying the same game twice a year for the rest of my life. One thing I noticed about it was the effect that morale had on a team. It really was the only thing that mattered. A small team with high morale would beat a big team with low morale almost every time. That was the key to victory....maintaining a high morale. I used to think it was a bit daft. As i've gotten older though i've come to realise just how important morale and team spirit actually are in football. I honestly believe that it's more important than tactics and technical ability. I suppose this is because with technical ability there's a lot more room for error but if you're on a high (morale) then errors don't seem to matter so much. If Kenny has made one ultimate mistake this year, i'd probably say it was that he (not just him though) has allowed morale to drop to rock bottom. As such our players are dragging their heels, heads down, no confidence or faith whilst those around us are marching with their heads held high. Look at Newcastle for example. Yes they're a good side. But they've done so well this season because they're on a high and that high has rarely dipped at all. Meanwhile we've trudged along at a mile an hour and have been left behind. I don't believe this is due to signings, but rather due to mismanagment and lacking in other departments such as the media (Suarez-Evra). We can point to any number of failed cogs in our machine this year, but the fact is that there are simply too many failed cogs. Why? What is the root of this problem?

Is it Andy Carroll, or Suarez, or other players? Perhaps, as a complete package but declinging to single out individuals.

Is it the loss of Lucas? I should hope not! Any team with high aspirations needs to cover the loss of such an important player but i'm sure this still had an effect.

Is it bad luck? Is it Fergie? Is it the owners? So many questions...

It comes down to one single question and that question is the heading of this thread. I have faith that Daglish is the man to walk us through this storm. He's done it before.

Trust me, with team spirit, morale and belief, even this 'shower of sh*te' will look a much better side. The likes of Carroll, Adam, Hendo, Gerrard and co aren't bad players. In a winning Liverpool FC team, those individual 'cogs' will perform MUCH better.

Dalglish talks of 'conspiracy'

Dalglish's comments follow a weekend of controversial decisions in the Premier League, when QPR manager Mark Hughes suggested managers had "lost faith" in officials and Wigan boss Roberto Martinez railed at "disgusting" decisions that allowed Chelsea to score two offside goals against his team.

Liverpool have just one win in their last nine league games but the manager believes that would be different if a number of key decisions had gone in their favour.

Dalglish feels his side should have had a penalty for a foul on Dirk Kuyt in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, that a Luis Suarez goal was incorrectly disallowed for handball in a defeat to Wigan and thet the Reds were denied a penalty in a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle after the ball hit Danny Simpson's upper arm on the line.

"The last three games there are blatant decisions that have gone against us that are, frankly, inexcusable, and I'd say unexplainable as well," said Dalglish.

"I won't raise it with the Referees' Association, I've raised it now, and it's up to them. I think it really should be their concern. I've raised it, and it's up to them now to look at it.

"If they have something like that [the denied Kuyt penalty], a decision that isn't given that is so blatantly wrong - as we have felt in our last three games - then surely it is their problem, not mine."

Speaking ahead of Tuesday night's Premier League match with Blackburn, Dalglish continued: "I know we have integrity, I know we have integrity in bucketloads, but I can't speak for other people and whether they have integrity.

"What we have to do now, is ensure this football club maintains its integrity, that the players keep their integrity, and hope that people elsewhere have some integrity too. They [referees] have to look at themselves and ensure they are seen to have integrity."

Dalglish went on to suggest that for match officials should explain important decisions to managers after matches, and he is not the only Premier League manager to do so.

"The unfortunate thing for this football club in the last three games is that when there are decisions that are wrong - and there will always be decisions that are wrong - then there is never an explanation of why," he said.

"It would be helpful and more transparent if they told us, if they explained the decisions to us, or even just held their hands up and say, 'sorry I got that wrong', and we can see they have integrity. But they never say anything.

"We don't get everything right, do we? So it is understandable they don't either. But a wee bit of respect towards us would help the situation immensely. Otherwise, people might think there is a conspiracy.

"We can't believe that, we can't let it affect us, and take it into the games coming up, because that would damage us. We have to keep going, and ensure it doesn't affect the players.

"If there is something, then somebody needs to tell us, and if there isn't anything, they need to explain it to us a bit better. We just need to keep going, we can't let it get to that, where we think it's a [conspiracy]."

Liverpool , who have an FA Cup semi-final against Everton this weekend, are 16 points off the champions League qualifying places.

oh dear it took you playing Championship Manager to noticed  the effect that morale had on a team lol
only having a pop mate.  :grinning:

But in truth i do feel games like Championship Manager  are to blame in many real managers getting sacked, fans play games like this and think they could do a better job and start ranting on forums for their manager to be sack..
there is a guy on a very well known liverpool forum that sent me a pm saying that he had put all our players in his team in CM and he won it by 10 points and the fa cup. he tried to tell me how close to real life CM was.
The thing is this guy is a very well known member of that forum and over the years other members have taken stuff he has said on board as they think he knows a lot about football.
yes very sad.

Agree fully. Too many armchair managers around and as we and many have already noticed, FM/CM is a poor reflection on reality. Funny thing morale though huh? Morale on the forum is very low indeed. Some of us (the blind-faithers I suppose) try to keep morale high whilst others constantly pick and post negativity. I believe that the morale as a whole (meaning fans, players, armchair managers, staff, the whole lot) is collective and reflects onto the very pitch itself. Might sound a little spiritual, but why not? It never worked for Hoddle. Maybe it'll work for us!

no he shouldn't lead, but i do think we have to change our transfer policy, forget young english players, they are all over rated and over priced and frankly, they're sh!te, we have to buy who we think will improve the team and are decent value for money.

looking at henderson and carroll, we could have signed silva / aguero for the same money. if buying english or buying quality were to only 2 options we had i  know way one id pick

I believe this is why we're seeing varying degrees of tolerance ,because Liverpool fans used to wait for success .

really, at what point during the glory years did fans have to wait 20+ years for a league title, the longest previous gap was from 1923 to 1946 and seeing as we aren't going to win it this year then we will have matched that and I find it very unlikely we'll win the league next season. As I said in one of my posts, for which I was ridiculed, it will take patience before we win the league as we are now so far behind the top4 let alone the 2 Manc clubs, but first we need to get the foundation right, and by that I mean the manager and squad and we are not even close at the moment.

There is a lot one can say about what went wrong this season. But one thing that kenny has not done, is mould our players into a team. At best we can say that Agger and Skrtel has formed a good partnership but other than that its hard to see that this is a team and not just 11 individuals.

And why is our squad so different to city heimdall, is it because their manager is so much better than ours or because of the £500 million or whatever it cost them and the astronomical wages they pay ?

brentd4 thinks that because we spent £35 million of the Torres money on Carroll we could have had Aguero, don't you realise aguero is on at least twice the wages that Carroll is ?
