I heard today (on Football Focus or something) that due to the financial difficulties at Valencia, Villa is available at £17m. Joaquin could probably be available at a similar price. With Rafa's connections we would be contenders for both players, and the 2 positions that we need to fill to really challenge are striker and right winger. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed Rafa is at least looking at the possibility of signing these players and that the money becomes available to him to do so.

If Villa was offered for 17M, it wouldn't matter since Parry has no access to newspapers, internet, TV or radio on his holiday resort island.

Joaquin is a player's lie, very overvalued. Joaquin ... 8/10m Or nothing.

Villa is a killer. He is very similar to Fernando Torres and with a level nothing that to envy. In England that plays with more spaces in defense that in Spain, to 20 goals minimum. 17, 20, 25M ...the goal is paid.

Villa scored again today and I dont think we can afford him to be honest. Maybe Joaquin though. Is he in the Spanish squad?

well when torres scored villa seemed happier than when he scored his own goal. and after villa's goal he ran straight to reina, another LFC player.

If Villa were to say I want Liverpool then they couldnt sell him to anybody else and we would get him at reduced price, too.

I think Reina was closest, but he def ran to Torres on purpose the other time, and Ronaldo gave Pepe of Real Madrid a wink after his goals. Hopefully two signs of foreshadowing.

I heard Valencia may be having a "firesale" and Villa's price dropped from £30m to £17m, best to get in before someone else does. The mancs need a goalscoring striker, best not to wait until they make a move. We have the edge, Villa no doubt likes playing next to Torres and our manager is Spanish so there's more to draw him to us than any other player.

And why bother signing Barny? Out of the four or five players - Villa, Barny, Dossena, Degen and Milner - that we've been linked with, could sign or have signed, which could make the biggest impact in a bid to win the Premiership? Barny came into the England side that failed to reach the Euros, not his fault alone but hardly a good selling point.
