Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Looking at his stats he looks like backup for Thiago. A great passer (92%) but his weaknesses are tackling, aerial duels and concentration. He is 171cm so not the biggest. Played well in Barcelona but Italy has not agreed with him. Actually his injury record is not bad, he missed a big spell after an operation but other than that a game here a game there. Worries me that his concentration is suspect and he is a little small, we need another bigger midfielder. In Italy they complained that he is a sideways passer, we will see.

There is no obligation to buy so cannot see the harm, hopefully he sees this as a second chance to improve his stock which has declined after Italy. I think they paid 55million for him and now his value is more like 20 million. Seems like a real moneyball signing where the player is better than his value, even though just a loan. We have a lot of Portuguese speakers so hopefully he makes a place for himself and he is actually in his prime at 26.

I've got insider knowledge that Fekir is on his way, via the Babelcopter.

We really need to tie up Bellingham as soon as possible. He was brilliant again last night and the big teams are all gonna be taking notice of that current form. Him and Trent could really form a strong bond on that side of the pitch.

Been linked today with a January swoop for Brazilian midfielder Gomes. Apparently Klopp has been watching him closely and is pushing hard for the transer.

I read we bid something like 84 million for Valverde but Real rejected the offer outright. If that is true it’s not like the owners don’t want to spend, it’s just they will spend on the right targets.

Sounds more like panicking to me. "We wanted to save money but saw once again that that's not gonna work so we'll panic buy now".

Maybe, but at least we know there is 84 million earmarked for a midfielder

True, but that money is worthless if not spent wisely. If we go into every transfer window with the thought to spend as little as possible and after results inevitably don't go our way, we start panicking and start throwing money at anything half decent that's available then we'll turn into Man United.

I'm bored out of my box. Call this a football season....? And that's even before the world cup raises its ugly head.

Feels like Covid period, doesn't even feel like the season has begun.

I feel you. The Wolves and Chelsea games being cancelled combined with the international break means we've only played twice in September. At least we now have 6 weeks of jam packed club football with no interpretations before the world cup. We've also managed to get a few players back from injury so hopefully some better performances and results are on the way.

Yep, I even went to that Legends match vs United just to get my football fix.

The only good thing is we didn't have much momentum going for us before the break..

Watched Darwin in his couple of international games he played LW vs Iran and played decent. Then played as a target man vs Canada and scored a header.. so hopefully he comes back with some confidence.

I think we really need to push hard for Bellingham in January to have any hope in buying him. Alot of our rivals will have blown most of their budgets in the summer window so will likely not be able to afford to buy him untill next summer because of ffp.

If we leave it untill the summer it will become a auction.. and that's not something we ever get involved with.

It might be £100+m but it's potentially a 10-15 year investment with his age. And if for whatever reason he wants to leave in that period, it'll cost a team £100m to buy him.

Is Jude really that good though? Some pundit (I think it was Carra) even suggested that if we sign Bellingham, he might have the same effect Virgil had when he arrived. That's a very bold statement.
