Short of being told they're not wanted I can't see any of the regulars accepting any proposed transfer this season.

After the last two seasons we've had and with one of the worlds most coveted manager's set to be here for another 3 seasons (and currently negotiating an extension to his contract) , any first team player who wants to leave now would need their head examined.

Even Ray Clemence is in the paper saying we should be trying to sign a couple of top players while our star is riding high.
For years we got told we can't attract x or y because x and y want to play for a team that's competing for the biggest prizes in the game and can guarantee them CL football. Well, right now, we are that team!
The only time a football team shouldn't be trying to sign players is when they have the XI best individual players on the face of the planet, if you don't have the best XI players you can improve.
Things can change around quickly in footy, we shouldn't be resting on our laurels.

Does Ray Clemence saying it mean it overrides Klopp thinking ?

What is his track record of managing clubs ?

Since when was it decided we are resting on our laurels - still a long way to go yet . But even if we only bring in a couple of young players it’s still reason to start panicking

I guess people still don’t understand how Klopp works. Isn’t it about time we let him decide instead of what people say in the papers.

There is no point in spending for the sake of spending - if Klopp finds a player he wants and beliefs will improve our squad then he will go out and get him - just as he has done every summer when needed. If you don’t trust him now then you never will

There are players out there who would improve us, we have money in our pocket and the clubs star is riding high after winning the CL and running City so close in the league, you tell me why we shouldn't try to improve.

Which players are you talking about ?

And do we have to sign players to improve ? Klopp has improved the squad each season - players are getting better each season, we have players returning from injury as well , younger fresher players in the squad

Klopp knows what he is doing

Are you trying to say the likes of an Mbappe or a Hazard wouldn't improve us? Don't say they wouldn't come here blah blah blah I'm talking theoretically. Yes or no?

They would but what’s the point of talking about them - they aren’t going to arrive at Liverpool, might as well add Neymar , Messi and Ronaldo - all world class players but irrelevant when they are not going to arrive at the club

Theoretically is irrelevant - let’s deal in the reality

So let’s discuss players that the club can actually sign that will improve the team

And also how many players have Man City signed

Ziyech 21 goals 24 assists can play CAM or RW available for just £30m. I always thought he was abit lightweight but he proved in the WC and this season with Ajax that he's more than capable for dealing with the demands of the physical game in the EPL.

Ziyech/Fernandes/Coutinho I think we'll sign one of those 3.

Fernandes is close to signing with the scum it seems. A pity, he will definitely improve them.

Very few deals have been completed by any club, I think it is still early and players are still on holidays. Players will come in window, I’m sure of it.

Wel, seems you agree that there are players out there who would indeed improve us don't you think it would be a decent idea to try and sign at least one of them? They don't even have to be massive names, given a choice who would you rather see in our squad Lallana or that lad from Leicester Maddison? Arsenal are trying to sign Zaha for £40m, granted as it stands he wouldn't get into our starting XI but don't you think he'd be a reasonably priced back up to Mo and Sadio? Obviously someone like Pepe or Dembele would be much more preferable but if the club doesn't want to spend big Zaha would be a decent fall-back option imo.
We got lucky with injuries last year, particularly to our front 3, we can't keep rolling the dice, we need to have a squad in place that can deal with major bumps in the road. You made a good point about Lovren the other day along the same lines, when he is our 4th choice CB you know the defence is in good shape. We need that type of depth all over the park before we start declaring that we are the finished article and don't need to sign anyone.
