The chances of us spending £70m on a 28 year old are practically nil.

Just one time one of these is going to stick, probably not this time though but it would be nice.

generally we set off down the high street, skipping along, stopping to look in the windows of Harvey Nicholls, Selfridges and Harrods...  then we look into the windows of Next, M&S and Debenhams before walking around the corner and spending next to nothing in Pound Land.

rinse and repeat

So we've went from hoping we'd sign VVD and Keita to being linked with anyone now.

This is beginning to look very familiar.

I don't buy into the Auba rumours for a second. I'd happily attend every home game in my saucies if that happens

According to the Echo's sister paper (the Daily Post) LFC are resigned to the fact that we won't be signing Mbappe.
In other news the world is round and the sky is blue.

I don't think he is going anywhere. He's first choice striker for the team that just won the French league and will be playing Champions League football next season. And he's just broken in to the French side with the World Cup a year away. He's only 18 and would be mad to go somewhere like Madrid or Man Utd. He should stay where he is for now. But no harm in us throwing our name in the hat and letting him know we're interested.

To be honest there aren’t many credible links apart from VVD, Salah, Keita and Sessegnon. All the other stuff is from unreliable journalists/outlets.

Sky linking us with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain again. Looks like his contract talks with Arsenal have fallen through.

Let's be honest, most of these stories linking us with the likes of Mbappe and Aubamayang are planted purely to generate  lots of traffic to their sites. Being one of the most followed clubs around the world, all they have to do is plant a tenuous link to a Mbappe or an Aubamayang and watch the clicks come in

Exactly. But somehow fans still get excited/angry after reading them!

Also because of our profile we are a good club for agents to leak false link to their clients.

According to the Echo we did genuinely enquire about Mbappe, looks like he's off to Madrid though.

You would've thought, that if Aubamayang goes anywhere, it would be to join up with Jurgen again.  No reason why he should go to Guardiola.  And they can afford him, seeing as they were apparently willing to spend 50/60 mil on VVD.

Why sign Auba when it makes too much sense?

James Pearce (Echo)...

Salah due in England today. Medical could be tomorrow. LFC still in the hunt for Keita. No interest in Aubameyang.

Would love Keita and VVD (If that's not completely dead in the water). Then we're a left back short. Still missing a goalscorer as well
