Keita, VVD and a left back would be a great window

I'm not sure about Keita. Seems to be abit too diminutive. As a CM in the EPL, that doesn't work for you. I like his game awareness though. He knows exactly where the play is.

It very rarely works out for us when we try to spread our budget across a number of players. If can add VVD and Keita to Salah, how would people feel about us brining in a stop gap left back?

Magnus, Kante who has just won the PL two years in a row and voted player of the year last season is 5'6" - is he 'too diminutive'? If Keita is too small who do you propose instead?
Happy we signed Salah and in my opinion we are covered for attacking players (unless we sell Studge) - hopefully now we will concentrate on our defence which is our biggest shortcoming

Probably about an inch or so either way between Keita and the likes of Lallana, Scholes, Modric, Mascherano, Kante, Wijnaldum, etc.

The VVD to Chelsea is gathering more and more pace, press in Italy have gone as far as to say that a price has been agreed and that the transfer is close

If this is indeed the case and he ends up a Chelsea player then we really only have ourselves to blame for fcukin things up so badly, the hardest part of getting to get him to agree on joining us was done and then to royally mess it up the way we have is really kind of unforgivable

I think VVD will end up at us and we'll comfortably pay more than £50mil. This would be a much bigger gamble than Salah but if Klopp gives it the OK then we have to get behind him.

Noise from some of the Southampton forums seem to indicate VVD is off to Chelsea.

Surely at 28 he is at his peak? A five year contract would take him to 33 which is not exactly over the hill is it?

Indeed.  The report in The Mirror said VVD had met with all interested clubs - and Liverpool declined to comment on any possible deal, but Sh*thampton only reported Liverpool for an illegal approach/tapping up... funny that.  This entire VVD situation reeks.

Well, it looks like Arsenal are getting one of those soon... yet another player Liverpool should've been in for.
