Yeah I saw the Drinwater story in the Mirror, £14m apparently.
If we sign either of those 2 i will give up on footy and take up chess or something.

I wasn't overly convinced about Gotze tbh but given the papers are linking us with the likes of Long and Drinkwater I hope to god that Gotze deal goes through now.

The Gotze deal is massive if it happens.. not just for the fact that he's a great player, but players will want to play with great players and he's got a big name in Europe so he'll help attract players also.

We are getting linked with every player in world football at the minute. I'm hoping the Long talks are false.. Hes decent but we have better players already and he's 29 years old. DrinkWater is very similar to Milner, Hendo and Allen so I don't see why we'd need him either. Xhaka would have been a great signing but he's off to Arsenal so we should go for his old team mate Dahoud who's been brilliant this year.

Gotze doesn't get me excited...Yes a big name but overrated.

Absolutely awful, hopefully it's just paper talk but given our penchant for signing the likes of Southampton and Villa players over the past few years I must admit I am fearing the worst.
As UvS points out the last thing we need in midfield is another technically poor prem proven workhorse, we need quality not effort.

Think it's a bit harsh on Drinkwater. Yes may not be a fashionable name and i'm not saying we should be signing him, but he has been very good for Leicester. We definitely need to be aiming higher but going by his season with Leicester, our lads could certainly learn a thing or two off him. Whether he can reproduce that form next season is another question

that seems odd mate. if this were true, we are losing out greatly and it also smacks of dbl standards.

On friday the press were linking us again with Eden Dzeko and now again today, he was a decentish player at City but not followed him since he's been at Roma

Any thoughts on this one ?
